Satellite rights[edit]

Hi there, re: this addition, though you obviously meant well, per this discussion at Wikipedia's Indian cinema task force, satellite rights are not considered noteworthy, and are beyond the scope of community interest. The content doesn't provide much in the way of useful academic information, and tends to encourage the addition of other trivial financial details. Subjective declarations[edit]

Hi, re: this edit, it would be appreciated if you'd please not add subjective declarations of a film's success, like "blockbuster", "super hit", "failure" and "flop". These aren't academic descriptions, they're subjective, hyperbolic terms used by the media and they have little place in an encyclopedia, not only because they violate our neutral point of view policy, but also because the terms are not the right tone for an article. Other things as well: You should be aware that your changes here resulted in some parameters being suppressed from display in the infobox. The parameters are case sensitive. "Written by" is not a valid infobox parameter. See Template:Infobox film. And note that edits should only be marked as minor if they are cosmetic changes that could never be the subject of a dispute. Typographical fixes, punctuation, capitalization, adding or removing wikilinks, things like that. Last notice re: Satellite rights[edit]

Hi, please stop adding trivial content about satellite rights sales to articles as you've done here and here and here. It's already been explained to you that the community isn't interested in having this content in articles, and if you want to argue otherwise, the burden would be yours to bring it up in some central location, like at WT:ICTF. If you submit this content again, I'll be forced to interrupt your editing privileges, because you're editing against community consensus. Also, please don't use blogs as references. Anyone can start a blog and print whatever they want. We're only interested in what reliable published sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say about anything. And lastly, your edits should not be marked as WP:MINOR unless they are cosmetic changes that could never be the subject of a dispute. Odd edits[edit]

Re: these changes, why did you remove India from the lead? Knowing what the nation of origin of a film is, is crucial information. Why did you remove "-language" after Tamil? The world is a big place, and not everybody knows that Tamil is a language. Even when languages are familiar to the bulk of the world, we might still indicate something is a "Spanish-language film" or an "English-language film". Where did "Action" come from? I don't see a reference. And if masala is defined as "freely mix[ing] action, comedy, romance, and drama or melodrama", then isn't "action masala" repetitive? Disambiguation[edit]

If you're not familiar with the Wikipedia community's preferences for article disambiguation, you should avoid moving pages around like you did with Narasimha (2001 film), which was already properly named. Disambiguation isn't arbitrary, and the community prefers simplicity and uniformity between articles. See Conflict and note how there are titles for American and French films by those names disambiguated by year. We don't disambiguate by nation or, in this case, ethnic industry unless there's a reason to, and presently there is no reason to. If two unique Narasimha films were released this year, one in Tamil one in Hindi, then we'd have a reason to disambiguate further, ex: Narasimha (2017 Tamil film) and Narasimha (2017 Hindi film). To do it your way only looks like subtle ethnic-warring, i.e. trying to brand articles with a particular ethnic stamp when totally unnecessary. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
