Two quick comments

[edit]

Hello Asukite,

Two small things on your addition to Talk:Clair Obscur...

  • Disambiguation pages don't get Wikiprojects merely of articles they link to. Otherwise pages with a lot of entries (e.g. Car (disambiguation)) would have a zillion Wikiprojects, none of which would have much interesting to say about the one line linking to that Wikiproject's article (e.g. this is just clutter in a listing for Wikiproject Azerbaijan or the like). Not a big deal, just figured I'd mention it for future reference.
  • I don't really understand why the RM got relisted. It's not the end of the world but this is a very open-and-shut case, and it was already relisted once, and it's a re-run of a RM that already failed very recently. There is some harm to endless relisting, and IMO the nominator has made a weak case here. We routinely keep a disambiguation page rather than a primary redirect when we have items like WikiNav saying that usage is split. In fact, WikiNav indicated that the desired primary redirect isn't even the most popular one. He hasn't convinced multiple editors in good standing. So why are we sprinkling notifications everywhere? IMO, if you thought the nom's case was good, just !vote in support of it, but I can't understand relisting as a closer in such a case. For any other RM, a RM open for 2 weeks with 0 support and 3 opposes from accounts in good standing would just get closed, not advertised. Now, Wikipedia's not a bureaucracy, it's fine, but I just don't see the reason for why this case merits the treatment. SnowFire (talk) 03:55, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@SnowFire The project tags are a bit of a hack I use to notify projects - I meant to remove those after using RMCloser but forgot to, so thanks for noticing that. The RM closing instructions mention that a second relist is acceptable with a reason given, and as there may have been more editors whose opinions may have been valuable in that discussion, I chose to relist it. Anybody is still welcome to close it after a relist (also per the instructions), so I don't see how it hurts anybody. I don't have an opinion, or I would have replied to the discussion. I wanted to close it, actually, but seeing the nom seemed to have issues with the previous close, it felt prudent to give it the best shot possible. Thanks. Wishing you and yours a fantastic Christmas (or holiday season for those who don’t celebrate) and all the best for 2026. 🎄 ❄️☃️

Here’s to a collaborative, constructive year ahead — with good faith, good edits, and just enough discussion to get things done!

New pages patrol January–February 2026 Backlog drive

[edit]
January–February 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.

  • The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
  • The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
  • Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
  • Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
  • Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • Interested in participating? Sign up here.

Hello, you might be surprised to learn that the Wikipedia bot is automatically preventing editors from typing out the title of his first great work, which I'll have to link under a redirect-hyperlink (the US edition title) because... Wikipedia would prevent otherwise

@~2026-25049-2 I'm not a bot - your edit was flagged due to the name you submitted being close to a derogatory term and it looked like vandalism - if you have a valid explanation I'll leave it alone, but if you keep getting reverted you might want to take to the talk page and ping those involved to help avoid further issues. You're not a bot, but the Wikipedia bot is flagging it mistakenly. ~2026-25049-2 (talk) 15:08, 15 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
