Input request[edit]

Hello Athaenara,

I am requesting input from all participants in the discussion from the recent Signpost article on sexism in Wikipedia for a proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/National teams#Proposed change: consistency in article title gendering. Thank you in advance for any contributions to the discussion. Dkreisst (talk) 21:14, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Help restoring an article from my user space[edit]

Hello, several years ago an article from my user space was deleted: "05:40, 18 June 2010 Athaenara (talk | contribs) deleted page User:Robert Kavanaugh/IsoSproutPlex (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)." As I don't have any wiki-formatted version of that draft, and as I'm seeking help with review and publication of an article on IsoSproutPlex from some of the same individuals who were involved in the original AfD trial, based upon the recent third-party, peer-reviewed journal articles on the subject, I need a starting point to help them help me. Is it possible to undelete this article back into my user space so I can work on it in a wikimedia format? Thank you in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robert Kavanaugh (talkcontribs) —Preceding undated comment added 14:52, 21 November 2013‎ (UTC)

You have a mime[edit]

See [[1]] Hell in a Bucket (talk) 15:17, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

  • That would be a "mimic", HIAB. Or a "doppelgänger", if you will. ;-) Kurtis (talk) 19:49, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for my delay in replying (this is my first visit to Wikipedia since early March). The brief discussion currently located in WP:ANI/Archive833 was initiated by a single-purpose and now properly blocked user "AthaenaraEmergencyAccount" who claimed "My e-mail has been hacked by someone and now I cannot log into my Wikipedia admin account" among other things. Thank you HIAB for the alert, thank you Kurtis for the linguistic bit, and TONS of thanks with hearts and butterflies and barnstars to LFaraone for investigating and blocking! – Athaenara 02:14, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Uhm, this is definitely not housingkeeping. The redirect is currently at RfD, and is more likely to be kept than not. WilyD 15:12, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

Paros[edit]

You deleted an entry ( Jerome Paros) on which I was working in my sandbox. I was under the impression ( mistakenly apparently) that the sandbox was an area in which the author might create a rough sketch and do work prior to formal submission. I didn't think it would actually be subject to scrutiny and public review prior to formal submission. What I assembled in the sandbox were a series of random thoughts in the process of being properly organized and referenced. I was also in the process of excising any inappropriate material. I was shocked and surprised to find that my entry was being scrutinized and evaluated before I had an opportunity to fully edit it to my satisfaction. I would like the opportunity to complete the entry and would also appreciate your input as to which aspects you considered "promotional." I would certainly incorporate your suggestions into my final efforts. AppreciativelyParos1 (talk) 21:11, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Lawrence Paros ( Paros1)

Deletion User Paros1/sandbox

Hi Athaenara. I notice that you deleted my entry at Paros1/sandbox. Any chance that page could be restored? I would like to modify the page so that it is neutral in tone and content and does not serve as a promotion. I am also confused on the nature of the sandbox, believing that it was an area in which one might experiment. My work there was nowhere close to being a finished product. How is that it was deleted though I had never finished the entry nor submitted it for review? Paros1 (talk) 21:44, 12 May 2014 (UTC)Lawrence Paros

I think the messages posted for you on your user talk page and the suggestions and links provided in the deletion log supplied the answers, if you will read them, to your questions. – Athaenara 03:33, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

COI related article nominated for deletion[edit]

Hi Athaenara,

There is a new essay on the subject of COI that I recently nominated for deletion. There is a lot of back and forth going on as you might imagine, and I thought it might be helpful to ask some editors with a historical interest in the area to give their input.

Just to be clear, you are not being canvassed based on my perceptions of what your views are. I am asking for input from the top 10 contributors to the COI Noticeboard, expecting that some expertise and interest might be found here.

Thanks in advance for your input, if you feel able and willing to participate. Formerly 98 talk|contribs|COI statement 22:52, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Request for undeletion of "World Photography Awards"[edit]

Hi, I was about to create a redirect from World Photography Awards to World Photography Organisation when I realized that you deleted an article under that name in 2008. In 2008 (S)WPA was still new, meanwhile it has been established. Perhaps the old article had useful contents that could be expanded or merged into the World Photography Organisation article, therefore I'd like to have a look. Could you please restore the article? Thanks. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 14:25, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

I took a look at it again (a long time since 2008!) and saw again the amateurish promotional piece that it was. I suggest you take it to Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion which is, as it says, "a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion" etc. It could, for example, be undeleted and moved to your userspace while you decide what content, if any, is appropriate and hence usable. – Athaenara 15:12, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Markbass[edit]

Hi Athaenara! I see that you deleted the page of Markbass in 2009. Can I go ahead and create a page for the same? I can first submit a draft for review and maybe you or any other moderators can have a look to see if conforms with WP:CORP and any other guidelines. Let me know. Thanks! Deletion of one of my user pages[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you deleted User:MorbidEntree/tools, citing WP:U1. However, according to my memory and my CSD log, I didn't request the deletion of that page. If possible, could you undelete it please? Thank you. --MorbidEntree - (Talk to me! (っ◕‿◕)っ♥) 15:51, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

I apologize; I studied the log and the page content today and cannot think why I thought you meant it to be deleted, other than the red link there (above your toolbox) to a page you had tagged for deletion. Kudos to Huon for restoring it for you while I was unavailable. – Athaenara 01:49, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of New York Press Club[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on New York Press Club, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Dr. Fleischman (talk) 19:48, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

It's always nice to be informed of things, and you could have informed yourself as well: I've created a couple of dozen articles (none of them spam), worked with other editors and admins to counter conflict of interest editing and advertising/promotion, and this spam removal in May 2007 was my sole edit to the New York Press Club article. – Athaenara 01:33, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Deletion review for Sonic the Hedgehog (film)[edit]

Loeb & Loeb[edit]

in re: Loeb & Loeb (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Hey, I object to your speedy deletion of Loeb & Loeb. Can you please restore it and, if you still want to delete it, take it to AFD? Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 18:56, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

It was created by the now-blocked single purpose account LoebLLP (talk · contribs); no subsequent edits improved it. An experienced editor, Markdask (talk · contribs), legitimately and appropriately tagged it db-g11 for speedy deletion as the blatant advertising it was. You are free to avail yourself of deletion review if you wish. – Athaenara 08:09, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
