You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.

Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.

Play in your user area. For example, create User:Austin siam/test.

Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.

When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Phyllis Mecham

Hi, Austin siam. The article Phyllis Mecham needs some references to establish that the person is notable. I tried looking for references myself but I haven't been able to find any. Biographies are usually deleted from Wikipedia within a few days if appropriate references cannot be found to establish the person's notability, so if you have any or are able to find some, please add them to the article. I have nominated the Phyllis Mecham article for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Phyllis Mecham. In particular, no supporting references could be found to verify the information in the article. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns.
