Re:

The image was small because you use the "| image name = " parameter instead of the just-image parameter. I think images should not have forced image sizes, so users with differing user configurations on image size aren't forced to see images the way a specific user wants. They are made larger when there is detail (like in a map) that can't be spotted otherwise. For the actual rules see MOS:IMAGES. Next time you can also leave a note about a change or revert on the article talk page. Regards Hekerui (talk) 21:56, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Kingory

Re. the speedy deletion tag you placed on the article Kingory.

Firstly, the tag was invalid because the article had previously been PRODded; If a page has survived a prior deletion discussion, it should not be speedy deleted (WP:CSD)

Secondly, it was not exclusively promotional (WP:CSD#G11) - it needed severe editing, and may also fail WP:GNG etc - you could take it to WP:AFD if you like. As if survived PROD previously, AfD is the remaining option.

I removed the CSD and the notification to the user.

Thank you.  Chzz  ►  23:59, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Matthew Berry (politician)

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Matthew Berry (politician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable unelected politician. Fails WP:POLITICIAN]

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I42 (talk) 22:49, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Retirement

I have seen the notice that you have placed on your userpage, and would like to be the first to urge you to reconsider your decision. Wikipedia is in no way perfect, and vandalism and notability are some of the most contentious issues around. Yet, you are an experienced contributor with 3,802 edits, and have been invaluable to WP:Virginia and have created many well sourced BLPs. I urge you to reconsider. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 20:06, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

  • I appreciate your concern, and will switch to being semi-retired. I'll be going through my watchlist daily, but that is all you'll be getting from me from now on.~BLM (talk) 20:29, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Jim Moran

News of the nomination of Moran's opponent and information on an attack site is "needless"? Please explain. BS24 (talk) 00:37, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

The website is apparently a component of the Republican opposition to Moran. Even if it is not encyclopedic, why was the Murray victory deleted with it? BS24 (talk) 00:56, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't notice it in the first paragraph. My apologies. BS24 (talk) 01:08, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Commons requirements for uploading a picture are so outrageously impossible to follow that the only way to get it up was to say it was my own. I have no affiliation with the Murray campaign whatsoever and why you are gunning for me is a wonder. BS24 (talk) 17:22, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Operation Scherhorn

Have you seen this book ? It says that Scherhorn was a real German group of stragglers and that one of Skorzeny's teams actually made contact and then marched west... and then ended up in Lithuania and disappeared.

I don't know what to make of all this.

Right, I know that Pavel Sudoplatov revealed the details of the operation (Operation Berezina in Russian sources) and the names of Soviet officers involved, and the tonnes of supplies dumped ... and that the official sites of both SVR and FSB confirm his account ([1], [2]). But, as they say on TV, trust no one. Could you please check for more English sources independent of the Soviet/Russian information?

GA nom removed

I delisted Operation Scherhorn from the GAN list. It's nowhere near the GAN standards. It's not just a matter of style (someone else can hone the punctuation) there's a big gap in sourcing. It happens all the time with Eastern special ops - it's mostly primary sources (memoirs of the very nice Stasi generals etc.) and very brief, cursory notes in Western secondary and tertiary RS.
