Introduction of mtee87-teammate[edit]

Hello Birdy0124. How are you doing? Just wanted to introduce myself to you as the other team-mate! I hope the semester is coming along fine. As I may mentioned in the introductions on blackboard, this is my second semester in the Biotech program, and so far it has been great! I look forward to working with you on this project this semester. Sincerely. Mtee87 (talk) 01:24, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think I may have written on another user's account as well thinking it was you. Are you also hybirdd on wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtee87 (talkcontribs) 01:43, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm not hybirdd. But I'm glad to have received your message. This is my second semester in the Biotech program as well! Do you have an emphasis in your degree? Mine is Regulatory Affiars. I've been struggling a bit to keep up this semester but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now. Whew! --Birdy0124 (talk) 03:06, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh okay. I must have confused the user hybirdd then by introducing myself as his/her team-mate. oh that's good that you are getting a hang of the semester! It seemed to be like that for me until week 4 or so.... I was thinking of concentrating in Biodefense, but I am not sure. I love the classes they offer. Hope you have agreat weekend... And I guess we shall be corresponding more frequently as the semester goes by... sincerely, Mtee87 (talk) 15:02, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Birdy0124! I left a message for you on our group talk page about our choice of article.... Pleasea take a look and let me know what you think.Mtee87 (talk) 03:34, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Birdy0124! I got your message! I will be adding new references as well other subheadings to touch on for this topic. sincerely,Mtee87 (talk) 23:06, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was not also sure if we had to sign our names at the end of every discussion or addition to your sandbox page. I did one, but if you don't thinkt it is necessary, please let me know so that I can take it out...Mtee87 (talk) 23:29, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion for Eukaryotic Article[edit]

I guess I should have typed this under a new section. Just created this page in order to separate previous discussions from article related discussions. Mtee87 (talk) 23:31, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Birdy0124, I moved the outline to the talk page for eukaryotic transcription. what do you think? Did you want to go ahead and sign it, or do we both have to sign it? Mtee87 (talk) 08:22, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure. According to the instructions, it says to add your ideas for how you would like to improve the article to the talk page of the article. I suppose an outline of what we'd like to improve counts? Birdy0124 (talk) 12:33, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Since our outline is our idea of what we think should be included in the eukaryotic page, I thought we could include it. If people didn't agree or thought other things should be added to or taken out from it, then they would suggest their ideas as well. The last person who suggested something on the page only talked about a paragraph on termination. I figured the outline went into further detail, thus giving people something to talk about. Please feel free to edit or add what you think we should put. Sincerely Mtee87 (talk) 14:59, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for the correction you made to the group page. For some reason I thought it was supposed to go on the talk page. I apologise for any inconvenience. Sincerely,Mtee87 (talk) 00:02, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also had an additional question for you. Did you want us to just edit as we saw fit (going by the outline)? or did u want some structure as to who will edit what? I know we just worked independently this past week. just wanted to be sure that we are in sync, even though we are working independently. Sincerely, Mtee87 (talk) 00:57, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should take turns editing by agreeing to a schedule. You can start and then I can add content. You can review my changes and suggest alternatives. I will then apply the necessary changes before the deadline. How does that sound? I think the most critical day are the final two days ... You will have custody Monday and I can finish on Tuesday since our deadlines are Tuesdays. Birdy0124 (talk) 01:05, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes we can take turns editing, but in terms of adding content, i think we should both add content as we go. Although I don't want to be working on a section that you may also be working on but haven't saved unto the page yet, to prevent double working (so I think we should both let each other know what we intend on working on for a given week)...For this week, I will be re-editing some of the work i did, as per suggestions from our reviewers. I will move the initiation section to the section where you have it broken down. It seems more appropriate there as the summary of the whole process. Although we may need to take out some of the sections that appear too technical. I will also work on looking for images, and wiki-linking as appropriate. SincerelyMtee87 (talk) 00:20, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have added some more points to the article with inline citations and wikilinking where necessary. I can't really seem to find good images on eukaryotic transcription except for the structure of RNA polymerase. How is it going for you? Please let me know what else you will need me to doMtee87 (talk) 03:26, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! just wanted to let you know that inline citations were needed for your prose additions from two weeks ago. I am not sure of what to cite them as because I don't know the source. Can you please add the inline citations for these sentences/paragraphs. It was one of the suggestions from our reviewers — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtee87 (talkcontribs) 04:01, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unit 12 Contribution[edit]

Hi Birdy0124. Its no problem. Will add my own contributions today then, so I don't duplicate anything you would have done. As far as figures or diagrams go, I was thinking I would just draw/sketch some of the processes based on what I would have studies from different books. I cannot promise to have those ready for tomorrow though. Most likely over thanksgiving. Our reviewers wanted us to work on putting citations in, I will go back and look through my contributions for any citations I may have missed. Please let me know what we can do to communicate more effectively, especially if you see something that you think needs a change. Have a great thanksgiving break. Sincerely, Mtee87 (talk) 08:01, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mtee87 - I just finished putting in my contribution. It's not all of it but it's all I have time for this morning. I will work on some of the other sections as well as the citations you mention. For communication, I will check the Wiki a lot more often throughout the upcoming days. We get those friendly alerts anyway. I thought we could perhaps let each other know when we start and complete work for that day. I fathom we will be editing our page a lot more heavily in the next week or so. I appreciate your effort with regard to the figure. I'm sure it will look great.Birdy0124 (talk) 16:34, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mtee87 - I put in more citations and edited a few that were incorrectly displayed. I also edited a few typos. Birdy0124 (talk) 02:34, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mtee87 - I put in more citations and added content to the Termination section. Birdy0124 (talk) 08:30, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I expanded the Eukaryotic transcriptional control section and added more refs. Birdy0124 (talk) 09:13, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome job on the expanded references! I apologize for the lack of communication since then. I have been able to add one image on RNA polymerase II and still will continue looking for more images before the end of the day. I also took out some of the sub headings as suggested by Klortho, especially on the RNA polymerase section.Mtee87 (talk) 02:23, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding the figures. I went ahead and added all the wiki links and flattened some of the subsections. I also added a few things to the progress report. Birdy0124 (talk) 04:02, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
okay great! it was nice meeting and working with you during the course of the semester! I wish you the best in the rest of the program! and hopefully we can always get to edit this article even beyond the class, when not swamped with the cares of life.lol.
