His outside-the-box thinking[edit]

Hi. I merged the info from the article you created into the Billy Martin article. Although it's valid encyclopedic material, it shouldn't be in a seperate article. I also tagged it as "original research" because references that you provided don't really show the "outside the box thinking." See Wikipedia:OR. But overall, it was a great start as a Wikipedia editor. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. best, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 23:04, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Roric Harrison[edit]

A tag has been placed on Roric Harrison requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you for creating the article.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Clay Gould Ballpark, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.uta.edu/public-affairs/pressreleases/page.php?id=633. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:16, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with Clay Gould Ballpark[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Clay Gould Ballpark, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.uta.edu/public-affairs/pressreleases/page.php?id=633. As a copyright violation, Clay Gould Ballpark appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Clay Gould Ballpark has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Clay Gould Ballpark and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Clay Gould Ballpark with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Clay Gould Ballpark.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Dawn Bard (talk) 22:20, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Clay Gould Ballpark, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. MLauba (talk) 22:23, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apparent plagiarism in several of your contributions[edit]

Hi,

As part of a review performed under the WikiProject Copyright Cleanup, I noticed that several of your recent contribution appear to contain blatant copying of third-party material. This would constitute a clear copyright violation and such contributions cannot be accepted. Please make sure you review and understand WP:PLAGIARISM before editing further, as any further occurences may lead to you being blocked from editing on Wikipedia. While we would value further contributions made in your own words, please understand that the words of others are subject to rights which we cannot and will not violate.

If on the other hand you would happen to be the original author of the same material, please follow the instructions under Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials before adding these to WikiPedia.

If you need further help, don't hesitate to either create a new section here and add {{helpme}} in it, or leave a message on my talk page. Happy editing. MLauba (talk) 22:54, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Coppell Copperheads[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Coppell Copperheads, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non-notable collegiate team

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I've moved it to a less "speedy" process - copyright was never the issue. The clubs are not notable (see WP:ORG for our standards) as they are merely non-professional collegiate teams. Ironholds (talk) 03:54, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Coppell Copperheads. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. You don't seem to be getting it - the entire problem is that they aren't professional, they're amateurs. We have certain standards for teams and certain standards for athletes, and this doesn't seem to fulfil either. Ironholds (talk) 04:17, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, The Ball Park (Houston)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, The Ball Park (Houston). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - West End Park (Houston, Texas). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at West End Park (Houston, Texas) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. —Danorton (talk) 21:58, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
