Copa América[edit]

Please don't edit until the game has ended, every edit made during the game takes more space in the Wikipedia servers. Wait till the end of the game to do one single edit with all the info. Garavello 00:03, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's the same logic as stated in Help:Show preview: Saving the same article a large number of times in quick succession makes it harder for people to check what changed, and clogs up the page history.
Therefore, editing "on time" is something that Wikipedia standards does not prohibit, but syas it's bad for the development of the article. If it was done in other articles, it was a mistake. Garavello 00:16, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just think that this is non-sense. It's not because it's done in other places it's right. I can argue that at Copa Libertadores 2007 it was always done the "wait til the end of game" way and it prevented lots of edits. Also, you don't have to add all the stuff at once. As stated in the same article I told you: consider copying the content into your clipboard (and I would add, keep it on a word processor). That way you can add all the bits to the text in your word processor and as the game ends, you simply edit it back tyo the article in one single edit (not clogging the history page). I ask you to check Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests. And just FYI, if we warn everybody who tries to edit the article "on time", more people will learn this is not the correct way to do. We can't just be like the others, we gotta give the example.

Cuz no matter if the edits are correct, when you keep editing "live" you are still going against Wikipedia policies. Garavello 04:45, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse my butting in, just as I am watching the Copa America in England I have an interest in the topic. I was just wondering (and I will add this question on Garavellos talk page) if it is appropriate to add an "in use" tag during the match if you wish to do as was suggested and copying all the text into a word processor during the game and doing one final edit at the final whistle, then removing the tag? If that would help/work? Exuse my ignorance of the matter if it isn't appropriate of course! ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 23:42, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks for replying, it would seem that the best way to do this would be to maybe add the "in use" tag during the game, that might at least help toward preventing so many live game edits. I can see the reason why it should not be done. And it will only get worse as the competition continues! Other than that it will end up a few of us just having to keep reverting during matches and I am sat here watching the matches whilst looking on here at the same time!! ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 23:50, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's a good solution. Just need to keep watching for peoplke who will edit even with the tag (and warn them of the fact). Garavello 23:54, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gucci Mane[edit]

Whatever thats Gucci's beef, not T.I.'s. T.I. does not have beef with him, so Gucci's name does not belong on his page just like Rick Ross. Georgia Peachez 13:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
