Wikipedia Asian Month 2017: Invitation to Participate

Hello! Last year, you signed up to participate in Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) 2016 on the English Wikipedia. The event was an international success, with hundreds of editors creating thousands of articles on Asian topics across dozens of different language versions of Wikipedia.

I'd like to invite you to join us for Wikipedia Asian Month 2017, which once again lasts through the month of November. The goal is for users to create new articles on Asian-related content, each at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words in length. Editors who create at least four articles will receive a Wikipedia Asian Month postcard!

Thanks for reaching out. I also tried to create the page after watching her on YouTube and discovering that she was not on Wikipedia. Anyway, this is what I think we can do:

• We can begin by creating the article in as many language Wikis as possible then translate from those langauages to English Wikipedia ( I can speak 6 languages from South Africa and Indonesian Fluently, all of whom are on Wikipedia)
• How can we work together on a second attempt?: You can also start the article on German Wikipedia and other languages you know then we focus on English at the end.

Articles have been established in Catalan, Spanish and German - my language skills are exhausted. I didn't see how to link the languages into the draft.

OTOH, after asking here I received some advice to concentrate on "in-depth reviews" - I'm going to write to Rita for further sources.

Thanks to you both, as I wouldn't have know about her had I not been randomly served the draft by the AfC Review algorithm! Marvellous voice. Please do help add more information and better sources as they become available (as it is, it's a bit heavy on the non-SIGCOV concert announcements). Parkview Library

It was not a serious Wikipedia page. Have you quoted reliable sources supporting notability of the library? And I did not delete the page, I proposed to delete it. Proposed deletion of Randburg Library

Recent news coverage indicating that the library has been the recipient of a donation to install solar power does not constitute significant coverage, and much of the content is either promotional, or is taken from the Johannesburg Libraries websites describing libraries in general, and not this library in particular.

You updated the {{Old prod}} template with the contest reason: This is part of a WikiProject Libraries campaign to work with libraries and increase the number of notable South African Libraries. I will note that adding a page about the library to Wikipedia does not make the library notable (and therefore does not increase the number of notable SA libraries). The library needs to be notable in order to add it to Wikipedia. I am still not convinced that this library is notable. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 16:53, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

I'm still working to improve this page. The history of this particular library constitute notability. Kindly let's park it in a draft space if you feel it's does not meet notability criterion. Also, we (Wikimedia ZA) are working with librarians to identify notable libraries from this list of South African Libraries. Would be great to work with someone like you on this project.
