AfDs

Hi. As you just participated in discussions on a closely related topic (also a current AfD re a Jewish list), which may raise some of the same issues, I'm simply mentioning that the following are currently ongoing: AfDs re lists of Jewish Nobel laureates, entertainers, inventors, actors, cartoonists, and heavy metal musicians. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 08:42, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jeff Passan

Hello Brewcrewer, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created on December 5 2007, Jeff Passan, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:Aelogan (page has mainspace links, and more than 49 edits). This has been done because the page seems to be about a person, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}" to the page text, and edit the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. If you have a question about this bot, please ask it at User talk:SDPatrolBot II. If you have a question for the user who tagged the article, see User talk:Aelogan. Thanks, - SDPatrolBot II (talk) on behalf of Aelogan (talk · contribs) 14:01, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, and to yours as well.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 22:31, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Many thanks for your gracious note on my talkpage. I'm encouraged that the matter concluded correctly, even without the astute observations that I imagine you may have had to offer had you seen it during its pendency. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 08:08, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

my observations tend to more acute then astute. perhaps thats what you meant. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 16:01, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

AfD

Please see this AfD of an article you worked on: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ephraim Shapiro (2nd nomination) Steve Dufour (talk) 01:59, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your compliment

here [1]. If I can take credit for the article ;) Brewcrewer 05:23, 5. Dez. 2010 (CET)

I have to thank you for the intresting article which was fun to translate. It's so much easier to translate articles, if they are well referenced - as in you case! --Hei ber (talk) 01:36, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Copied from hei ber's userpage at de.wikipedia and answered here.--Hei ber (talk) 01:36, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

"Lulz"

Can you explain what you meant by this edit, please? SlimVirgin talk|contribs 02:43, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

On the same article, I'm not sure the "as" in the song's name should be capitalized. This question affects the article's title. Jalapenos do exist (talk) 10:48, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps the "we" as well. I have no qualms if you move the article to a name you find more grammatically correct. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 17:00, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
That's the thing, I'm not sure what it should be. I thought you might know. Jalapenos do exist (talk) 22:47, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I'll start a discussion on the talk page.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 03:13, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
also, you may want to name the thread you started.[2] --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 20:08, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Could you explain why you vandalized the article, please? That's an odd thing for a regular editor to do. SlimVirgin talk|contribs 17:04, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I feel a little bad for chuckling. I assume you meant to WP:HIDDEN and not <nowiki>. Hidden markup would have made it not visible to readers. I am sure you expect to get admonished by an admin since even a joke meant for us editors can be inappropriate.Cptnono (talk) 02:54, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
You chuckeled? You are soooo bad. I did mistakenly surround it with the wrong tags, but fixed if right thereafter.[3].--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 03:20, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
I didn't want to give my actual response which included spitting soup on my keyboard. But yeah, I am sure we all know that dark humor is not always the best humor here.Cptnono (talk) 03:17, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Swedish edit reverts

Brewcrewer: regarding recent reversions in Sweden-related articles by a sockpuppet; the problem was not that the material was bad, but that huge sections were duplicated over and over in 3 or 4 articles. The prior user User:Shalalal put the material in 4 or 5 articles, and I tried to work with that user, and ended up creating Antisemitism in Sweden, and I tried to consolidate it all there (with links from all articles to that). Shalalal was blocked as a sock of some other user a couple of ago. Then, they revived as a new user User:Marcomanni, and again copied large amounts of material into 3 or 4 articles. So, the issue is duplication, not accuracy. Can you look at the articles and let me know if the duplication is too much? Or do you think that amount of duplication is okay in WP? --Noleander (talk) 22:46, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I will look at it later when time permits. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 04:35, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Having looked over all the articles at issue, I don't think an entire deletion is warranted but some pruning is necessary to remove duplication and disproportionate sectioning.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 15:30, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

The DVD containing Director's Cut and the Extended Cut has been released on 21 December 2010

YOU deleted the section about the Director's Cut and the Extended Cut because there is no reference. The "reference" or the "source" is the DVD (Deluxe Unrated Edition) which contains all 3 versions, and this DVD was released yesterday and I have bought and scrutinized it. There is no authority in the world who would write an article about each scene of the movie. The ones who have watched the Theatrical Version in theaters, wrote the plot summary several months ago. In this case so far nobody deleted the main plot summary of the Theatrical Version just because there is no source that says everything in the plot, the authorities release only the general idea of the plot. For everything else, we need a reference, but for the plot there is no reference other than the actual film itself.

Thus I will put the section about the Director's Cut and Extended Cut back, but I will specify that the source is the DVD that has been released.

And for more details, please see the talk page of Salt film, where I wrote many more details about the differences between 3 versions.

Regards, Objectivecorrector (talk) 06:02, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

that's not a source. your interpretation or anyone's interpretation of what is seen on a DVD remains Original Research.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 19:05, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Interested in your opinion. Roscelese (talk) 21:44, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

"Roe" edit

Hi, Brew. She'd written about a "Mark Roe," a seemingly non-notable academic. That's what triggered my response. You're right, though; she hadn't edited in a long time, but she started in with an apparent COI. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 06:03, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

i suspected it was a Twinkle bug or something because i couldn't find it in the contrib history, that's why i let you know. i don't care either way. the talk page was just sitting on my watchlist for some god-forsaken reason.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 06:09, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
