Copyrighted images[edit]

STOP adding copyrighted images to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Ward3001 (talk) 22:52, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your question here, copyrighted images cannot be added to the biographical article of a living person. Such images can potentially be replaced by free images. Read WP:NFC. Note that the images you removed from the articles in question were uploaded by the person who took the photo, or were otherwise free images. Ward3001 (talk) 23:20, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding this question, which ones did you think are OK to put on a page? I don't believe any that you uploaded were free images that are appropriate for biographical pages. Ward3001 (talk) 23:34, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please try to understand something. If you copy any image from any website, you can assume it is copyrighted unless it specifically states otherwise. You cannot add copyrighted images to the biographrical article of a living person. The message "Thanks for uploading ..." is done automatically by a bot that detects images that have inadequate copyright information on the image page. It is not an invitation to continue uploading copyrighted images. Ward3001 (talk) 23:51, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Amber the hits.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Speedy deletion of File:Amber naked 3.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Amber naked 3.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source problem with File:Amber naked 3.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Amber naked 3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:53, 2 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ipatrol (talk) 22:53, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have received numerous warnings above about copyright violations and are apparently ignoring them entirely. I have blocked you account for 1 week. If upon your return from the block you continue to upload and post copyrighted material you will be blocked and for a much longer period of time (possibly indefinitely). There are many things to do on Wikipedia. I'm sure you can find something interesting and useful to do that does not infringe copyrights or violate other policies. Please find that better role. Your intent seems to be geared toward improving Wikipedia, even if your edits have thus far been actually damaging. Specifically, uploading copyrighted material is actually worse than many other forms of vandalism because it exposes Wikipedia to liability. This is your last chance. Please take it.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:12, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for disruptive editing (numerous copyvios). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Mistake[edit]

I tried to warn you about copyright violations, but you decided to tell me to "shut up" in this edit. That "shut up" was a mistake for several reasons. First, you assumed you could continue to ignore legitimate warnings. Secondly, you assumed that you owned the Valeria Andrews page because you created it, when in fact no one owns any Wikipedia page. And finally, it was a personal attack and thus another policy violation. Now that you have gotten what you deserve, maybe you will pay attention when you get future warnings. I'm watching all of your edits. Ward3001 (talk) 17:35, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LittleBigPlanet[edit]

Please do not ignore notices in articles left by other editors as you did on LittleBigPlanet. This is at least the second time you have added PlayStation Portable as a platform for the game, both times ignoring/deleting the comment not to add it without at least discussing it on the talk page first. As explained on the talk page, listing the PSP as a platform on LittleBigPlanet is incorrect and although they may of been well-intentioned, your edits appear arrogant. If you continue to introduce incorrect information into Wikipedia articles your edits may be considered vandalism which could result in you being blocked from editing. Thanks. Orphaned non-free media (File:Amber undanced ii.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Amber undanced ii.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Freshly squeezed (valeria andrews album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add content (particularly if you change facts and figures), as you have to the article Necar Zadegan, please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Replaceable fair use File:24_Necar_Zadegan.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:24_Necar_Zadegan.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 08:27, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Omar_Hassan_24.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Omar_Hassan_24.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Alejandro[edit]

I would like to ask you why you have formatted "Europop" after "Electropop" on Alejandro . It MUST be "Electropop, europop, disco", not "Electropop, Europop, disco". This violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Please do not do it again. CharlieJS13 (talk) 22:03, 8 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.135.102 (talk) [reply]
