- Ntmsm69 Good day. Any added or modified content must be substantiated by an independent and reliable published source, specifically a secondary source, such as those from major newspapers or books, in accordance with Wikipedia's core policy of verification. Sources derived from social media, organizational websites, educational institutions, government entities, foundations, and private companies are generally deemed unreliable and/or not independent. In contrast, materials published by "major" newspapers and "reputable" books are typically considered reliable sources. To add the inline citation, please use the "horizontal format" of Template:Cite web. Only important records are to be add but not all of them. Btw, you have a conflict of interest (COI) to edit Mollie O'Callaghan page, so need to WP:DISCLOSE your COI on the article talk page and your user page prior edit on O'Callaghan page. Regards. Tech News: 2025-28
[edit]Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Weekly highlight
- Temporary accounts have been rolled out on 18 large and medium-sized Wikipedias, including German, Japanese, French, and Chinese. Now, about 1/3 of all logged-out activity across wikis is coming from temporary accounts. Users involved in patrolling may be interested in two new documentation pages: Access to IP, explaining everything related to access to temporary account IP addresses, and Repository with a list of new gadgets and user scripts.
Updates for editors
- Anyone can play an experimental new game, WikiRun, that lets you race through Wikipedia by clicking from one article to another, aiming to reach a target page in as few steps and in as little time as possible. The project's goal is to explore new ways of engaging readers. Try playing the game and let the team know what you think on the talk page.
- Users of the Wikipedia Android app in some languages can now play the new trivia game. Which came first? is a simple history game where you guess which of two events happened earlier on today's date. It was previously available as an A/B test. It is now available to all users in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Turkish, and Chinese. The goal of the feature is to help engage with new generations of readers. [1]
- Users of the iOS Wikipedia App in some languages may see a new tabbed browsing feature that enables you to open multiple tabs while reading. This feature makes it easier to explore related topics and switch between articles. The A/B test is currently running in Arabic, English, and Japanese in selected regions. More details are available on the Tabbed Browsing project page.
- Bureaucrats on Wikimedia wikis can now use Special:VerifyOATHForUser to check if users have enabled two-factor authentication. [2]
A new feature related to Template Recall and Discovery will be deployed later this week to all Wikimedia projects: a template category browser will be introduced to assist users in finding templates to put in their “favourite” list. The browser will allow users to browse a list of templates which have been organised into a given category tree. The feature has been requested by the community through the Community Wishlist.
- It is now possible to access watchlist preferences from the watchlist page. Also the redundant button to edit the watchlist has been removed. [3]
View all 27 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week.

UFC BJJ
[edit]Hi Cassiopeia, I was wondering if you might be able to go back into the deletion log and bring back the UFC BJJ article I created. You can bring it back with the rules section deleted (which was the copyright issue) and I will rewrite the rules in my own words so we can have the article back and created. Please let me know, thanks. GOAT Bones231012 (talk) 20:04, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Sphilbrick and GOAT Bones231012: Good day. Please contact User:Sphilbrick, who is included in this message, to retrieve the initial copy of your deleted article. Once you have it, please develop the article in the "draft" space. Stay safe and regards. Cassiopeia talk 22:23, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- GOAT Bones231012 I can email it to you, but I don't see that you have email enabled. S Philbrick(Talk) 00:42, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Sphilbrick Thanks for getting back to me. Is it possible you can just paste it to my user talk page? GOAT Bones231012 (talk) 03:23, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- GOAT Bones231012 User talk page is designed for communication among the editors and not to house article content. It is better for you to provide you email address and in the unfortunate event that you forgot your password, you can reset your password if you have your email address in your preferences page (click on the "human icon" on top right of the page and chose "Preferences" and go to "Email options". Once you have provided you email address, check on "Send password reset emails only when both email address and username are provided" and "Allow other users to email me".
- As for creating a draft page - pls go to Wikipedia:Drafts. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 03:44, 9 July 2025 (UTC)

- Cassiopeia explained one reason why I cannot copy it to your talk page. A second reason is that material is copyrighted and are not going to create a copyright violation. I realize I could comb through the material and remove the copyrighted parts but that's not a reasonable request. Sending it to you via email means it isn't posted in a public place such as the talk page. It's very easy to go to preferences and turn on your email option. This will not provide me with your email address it creates a way that I can drop some text and it will be sent to you without me knowing your email address if that's a concern. Question from Arthur10167 (23:24, 8 July 2025)
[edit]Hey! If you could just let me know, im new to editing and have grown up as a dinosaur fan and fan of other media, but one of the biggest youtubers in my space is TheGamingBeaver, he has over 4 million subscribers and 2+ Billion Views. He is th biggest dinosaur/Kaiju game/Movie youtuber out there really, and has made a huge impact in the space. I was wondering if a wiki would be alright to be made for him? I have a near draft ready but with a lot of issues (as like I said im very new to editing lol) but I feel like he deserves it. Even if its a small Wikipedia page. Thank you for your time. --Arthur10167 (talk) 23:24, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
- Arthur10167 Good day. In order for a subject to warrant a page in the main space of Wikipedia, it must fulfill the criteria outlined in the Wikipedia guideline on notability, specifically the General Notability Guideline (WP:GNG).
- GNG is defined as the subject must fulfill specific criteria to demonstrate significant coverage from independent and reliable sources. These sources should provide in-depth discussions about the subject rather than merely offering passing mentions. This requirement is essential for verification, which is a core policy of Wikipedia. If a source is affiliated/associated/connected with the subject—such as the subject's marketing team, company, social media platforms, information in interviews of the subject or any self-published information—this indicates a lack of independence. Consequently, such sources cannot be utilized to satisfy the notability guidelines. Sources originating from educational institutions, government entities, foundations, social media platforms, and private companies are regarded as unreliable. In contrast, materials published by "major" newspapers and "reputable" books are typically considered reliable sources. I recommend that you read WP:Your first article and adhere to the provided instructions before beginning the creation of an article. I also strongly suggest you to take a short program WP:TWA (30 mins) to understand some of the fundamental Wikipedia guidelines so help you on editing Wikipedia pages. Regards. Question from Group4presention (00:25, 9 July 2025)
[edit]hello. im new to wikipedia and we are trying to make a page for our group project. may u give us any idea on how to make a wiki page? --Group4presention (talk) 00:25, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Group4presention Good day and thank you for the question. First of all, since you are planning to create an article about your group that means you have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest since you are affiliated/connected/associate with the group. As for you question, see below:

Hey! So I was wondering
[edit]You said the hangtime youtuber (michael turk) stuff was unsourced, but when you click on the (about) that leads to the youtube bio. It shows everything i listed. So its just a little weird to throw away common sense (like, checking the channel to confirm what i put is factual or when you click on the link thay takes you to the youtube about page) i domt know what kinda source i could've put when it leads directly to what I put. but then again im a new wiki editor, so im just wondering what happened there. Thank you for your time! Arthur10167 (talk) 18:48, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- Arthur10167 I had already provide you the info on your talk page prior you wrote me this message above. "Please note that your edits on the above page have been reverted as any added or modified content must be substantiated by an independent and reliable published source, specifically a secondary source, such as those from major newspapers or books, in accordance with Wikipedia's core policy of verification.
