DST associated practices are regional?[edit]

Thanks for your recent comment on the discussion for Daylight saving time. I followed up there.

I might look into it, thanks for the response. Calamarain 13:25, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Broken link on user page[edit]

Hi CattleGirl. On your user page there is a link to Angus Australia. The site doesn't seem to be working. I'm sorry if this is just a temporary problem. I hate to clutter talk pages. But I have to be bold, I guess :) Calamarain 08:34, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, no problem! Thanks for telling me, I fixed the link (wrong URL) :). Cheers- CattleGirl talk 08:49, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help citing[edit]

A cite on Speed_of_electricity is broken, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Please remove this tag after it has been fixed, I'm not sure when I have time to do it. Thanks!

I've removed the malformed citation altogether. Generally I don't think you should cite other Wikipedia articles, but to other literature. Although you probably want to take a look at WP:Citation templates for future reference. -Optigan13 (talk) 08:42, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:GalacticCivilizationsIIMapViews v2.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:GalacticCivilizationsIIMapViews v2.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 06:42, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused. The copyright information at the picture contains the fair use of a game screenshot. What else is needed? Calamarain (talk) 10:53, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe a rationale is required for each article in which the image is used as an explanation for why the image is being used. Add the template below to the image page and fill in each field. You can find information on what is required on each field here. Have a look at the fair use rationale on another image from that article like File:GalacticCivilizationsIIColony.png as an example. I would add it myself, but I'm not sure I know the subject!

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 22:03, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
