Edit summaries / POV[edit]

Please use edit summaries to explain the changes you make to pages to let other editors know what you are doing. There is a box for such summaries just above the buttons for saving changes. Also, please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policies on common naming practices, neutral point of view, and gaining consensus for edits. You are making numerous controversial edits without discussing what you are doing. Much of that work is likely to be reverted, and if you continue without discussion, you risk being blocked from editing. Laszlo Panaflex (talk) 17:08, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

@Laszlo Panaflex:. Two years later and the user still doesn't use edit summaries 80% of the time, or look for consensus in edits. I suggest, if this continues, taking it to ANI. - R9tgokunks 00:18, 31 August 2018 (UTC)

Image tagging for File:SW epVIII logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SW epVIII logo.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Two suggestions[edit]

As a courtesy to other editors, I would like you to consider two suggestions:

  • Please read WP:ES carefully, and make sure you always make an edit summary when you are editing articles.
  • Please read WP:MINOR carefully, and make sure to click the "Minor" button only when the edit is truly minor.

In both cases, it would make it much easier for other editors to understand what you are doing, and why. --T*U (talk) 19:26, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

May 2017[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Pirates of the Caribbean (film series), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Betty Logan (talk) 07:55, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Navalny in Yaroslavl.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Navalny in Yaroslavl.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 23:49, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Your edit[edit]

[1] had me perplexed: What was that supposed to mean? A joke? My editing in that article then was somewhat clumsy — due to the fact that i was using a desktop with no functional ″copy/paste″ capacity. No reason for disruptive teasing, or whatever that was meant to be, I suppose.Axxxion (talk) 20:19, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message[edit]

Scale of justice 2.svgHello, CapLiber. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Thirty Years' War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Battle of Lützen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:17, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

File:Alpha and Omega franchise logo.png[edit]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:20, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

User page harassment[edit]

Hi CapLiber. I noticed that on your user page, a user named Dobrom left a rather rude message to you. It was inappropriate for the user to leave their message on your user page (if anywhere, it should have been here on your user talk page). Their edit summary was doubly inappropriate, and if I had seen it today, I would have strongly considered blocking the user for harassment. All of which is to say: please feel free to remove that text from your user page if you want. Mz7 (talk) 19:40, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Edits to List of Star Wars films and television series and Star Wars[edit]

You need to slow your roll when it comes to editing these articles. You have made hundreds of unexplained edits to these articles (the lack of an edit summary is an issue in and of itself.) without attempts for discussion on the talk pages of the articles. The style edits are also a problem. Please seek consensus(WP:CONENSUS) for them first. A few other editors are also changing the style so It's nothing but a never-ending saga of people trying to change the style of the tables, etc. Also, stop adding "Untitled Boba Fett film." There have been no official announcements of this film by Lucasfilm yet. Any addition of this is considered WP:OR and I will remove it immediately and issue a warning. Start taking to the talk page if you want to totally revamp these articles. I will message other users who do this when I see the edits. - R9tgokunks 00:21, 31 August 2018 (UTC)

I never added the information about the Boba Fett film. It was other users who did that. User:CapLiber (talk); 09:09, 31 August 2018 (UTC)

September 2018[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Hebrew Bible, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. power~enwiki (π, ν) 14:32, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

Specifically, you reversed a move made by consensus after discussion within the last two months at Talk:Hebrew Bible. Largoplazo (talk) 17:28, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

A page you started (Timeline of the Ukrainian crisis) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating Timeline of the Ukrainian crisis, CapLiber!

Wikipedia editor Edaham just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

I've reviewed this article and for the time being, as it's unsourced and lacks context, I've changed it to a redirect. I suggest adding this info (if verifiable) as a section in the parent article first, where more editors will be able to give it attention. If it becomes a large enough section, you may want to start a discussion at the talk page of the parent article regarding a fork. This is particularly important as the information may possibly be controversial and we should avoid small forks which allow the isolated addition of information which may be contended in other articles. Edaham (talk) 04:51, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

To reply, leave a comment on Edaham's talk page.

Orphaned non-free image File:Star Wars canon galaxy map.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Star Wars canon galaxy map.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:32, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
