January 2008[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as you did to Zed. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thanks for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Your edit to Ultraviolet[edit]

Your recent edit to Ultraviolet regarding Michael Thomas has been reverted because of perceived conflict of interest and soapbox style. However, a neutral article about the technology used by Colossal Storage (rather than the company itself) might well be acceptable. All the best. --Old Moonraker (talk) 22:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sino indian war and indian public reaction[edit]

What you are doing is original research. Find a reliable source which deals with this issue .I believe you are essentially correct - there was a surge of nationalist sentiment in the wake of the 62 war with many movies being made about them /songs sung etc. But what you need is a published book to support this assertion. Also when someone disputes your content, please dont readd it without establishing consensus in talk page first (see WP:BRD)--Sodabottle ([[User talk:Sodabottl

There are enough books material here from which you can source your material. Remember to phrase it in such a way that your opinions/beliefs dont enter into the text and only you paraphrase what the references say.--Sodabottle (talk) 06:47, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"India's defeat in 1962 led to an overhaul of the Indian Army in terms of doctrine, training, organization and equipment. In the face of this ignominious war, Indians reacted with an unprecedented surge of patriotism."
"1962 war were influenced by strong emotions, including defiance, pride in the aroused patriotism and unity demonstrated ... In addition, there was an absolute conviction of the righteousness of India's cause"

These re covered in the article of that song i put up, aye mere watan ...., but the cabal of wikipedia it seems deigns otherwise. Do what you will.Vannakam. RAA Ra Ra your Boat (talk) 07:44, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The "cabal in wikipedia" merely asks you to put in the necessary work to make your edit stand upto wikipedia standards. If you prefer not to do the work necessary (sourcing it from reliable sources - wikipedia articles cant be used to source other articles), then no wonder your edits get reverted.--Sodabottle (talk) 07:53, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The wikipedia article has the relevant links , the data need not be reposted at every location!I provided the internal link for the same express purpose.instead I face , what i would call a group of people who do not believe in the authenticity of Wikipedia herself.

Refer the article , and before that , the posts I made with the people who raised the flag in the first instance (shovon et all) RAA Ra Ra your Boat (talk) 07:03, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have read your case at the Mediation Cabal here. Please make your case comprehensible, and only then can a helpful editor have a look at it. Thanks. TheMikeWassup doc? 09:37, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:20, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ramachandra Guha[edit]

Hello. I saw your request for mediation. It looks like administrator Spaceman Spiff is not available at the moment, having taken a break from Wikipedia. How may I help? Carrite (talk) 18:24, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A hello to you too , Since My request for mediation had spaceman Spiff as one of the respondents(parties to the conflict of interest) myself being the other , i do not see how you can interject on his behalf,sir/madam. However here goes,

I was unable to understand how quoting the lines spoken (unequivocally) by a living personality about a particular subject cannot be quoted as part of the article on him. When the living personality has himself Cleared his (low) opinion on that particular subject(in this case Hinduism and Hindu civilization) , what wrong did I do in Using that source.

Also , since the other party(spaceman spiff) stopped the debate/discussion unilaterally with a final word like "we are Done" and refused any further interaction , i had to resort to the mediation cabal.

If you can clarify , I would be honoured(yeah ,I am an Indian and a Hindu).I apologise for the delay in responding. RAA Ra Ra your Boat (talk) 07:22, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mediation Cabal: Case update[edit]

Dear Chimesmonster: Hi there! I'd like to let you know that in a Mediation Cabal mediation case that you are involved in, or have some connection with:

Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2011-02-01/Ramachandra Guha

I've made the following changes:

This case that you filed appears to relate to the same issue(s) as 2011-02-26/Ambarish Srivastava. It has been sitting around since 01 February 2011. SpacemanSpiff appears inactive; is mediation still required? Let me know whether there is a current dispute or not. I have left him a talk page message.

Please have a look at the mediation case page linked to above, and participate in the current stage of the mediation process if you wish. Of course, participation is completely optional, and if you don't want to take part in this mediation at any point, that's totally fine. If you have any questions or concerns relating to this dispute, the mediation, or the Mediation Cabal in general, please do let me know. Thank you very much. Best regards, NicholasTurnbull | (talk) 16:52, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mediation on Wikipedia is voluntary, which means that mediation will only proceed if the major parties in the dispute agree to undertake mediation. SpacemanSpiff (talk · contribs) explicitly declined mediation, which means that he cannot be forced into participating in discussion with you via a mediation process. My recommendation, if you feel the dispute is not resolved, would be to take the matter to a Request for Comments — or, if you do not meet the requirements to file an RfC, post requesting review from other editors on the Administrators' noticeboard. Sincerely, --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) 13:00, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Kerala nakshatra signs has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTDIR

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WWGB (talk) 08:33, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A belated welcome![edit]

The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Chimesmonster. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome!

February 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( in the enhanced toolbar, or if you use the old "classic" toolbar) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you.
