Enterprise dab page

Are you planning on creating an article for the book referenced on the Enterprise disambiguation page:[1]? If not, there's no real point to the entry since the link goes nowhere. Thanks! Dreadlocke ☥ 21:27, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

ST fans are obsessive—I'm sure it won't be a red link for very long. Finding all the relevant places something could/should be linked from, however, is challenging. I disagree with you. If you read the Wikipedia Guideline Wikipedia:Disambiguation, you'll see that a dab page is for resolving Wikipedia article title or topic conflicts, and the entry for the book is clearly not a Wikipedia article title or topic. I'll remove the entry until someone actually creates a solid article that passes requirements for inclusion in Wikipedia - which I doubt will happen because it is not a notable book. And, I, my friend, am a totally obsessive and rabid Star Trek fan... :) Dreadlocke ☥ 01:55, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Owatonna, Minnesota

Hello. I noticed your reformatting of the education section. I'm not sure how it will appear on all screen sizes but I'll leave up to others. The reason the majority of educational institutions formely were listed under Owatonna College and University Center is because (as I understand it, from OCUC's website) is that OCUC does not itself provide courses, but those institutions provide curricula at OCUC. Pillbury College however is independent. So it might make more sense to leave the others under OCUC, with a separate link to Pillsbury. I'll watch this page if you want to reply here. I knew for certain that Pillsbury did not belong in that section, and thought that the way it had been done was simply an error. I'm not sure exactly how OCUC operates, so please feel free to correct it. (Perhaps a nested list format would increase clarity.) And FWIW, I prefer to use fairly narrow browser windows, and the 3-column format works nicely for lists of short entries like that one, as opposed to wasting lots of space and having longer vertical scrolls. ⇔ ChristTrekker 20:54, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Jef Poskanzer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Your SVG tutorial idea

Sorry for not responding to you comment; I don't come here very often. All I did was use Inkscape and traced over all the curves and used all the features of the program to make the SVG version look as true to the bitmap while retaining the curves and lines. Village Pump, WP:Undue Weight

Maybe some fresh eyes would help. Being a total outsider to Judaism in general and having read the article Messianic Judaism for the first time, my impression is that the article is very informative, yet has a slight edge of defensive advocacy towards the end where it discusses the controversy between mainstream Judaism and the conflict with Jews For Jesus. Regarding links to your article, in the "mainstream" Judaism article, I see mention of the MJ movement in Judaism#Syncretic_beliefs_incorporating_Judaism which appears to be in appropriate weight to the other topics. Yes, I went to the example Jewish_Publication_Society_of_America_Version and saw the edit war. I also saw someone added a description that theComplete Jewish Bible was "adjusted to be more suitable for Christians", which is an opinion, and not suitable for Wikipedia, so I reverted it. I admit I know nothing about the subject, but I do sense that there is a conflict between Messianic Jews and mainstream Jews, and some POV editing is going on. LuckyLouie 21:59, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Robert Fitzgerald (politician)

I changed the stub tag to a politician tag because 1) It needed something more than a plain bio-stub tag, 2) the article title uses politician for disambiguation and 3) the first line of the article says he is an American politician so I put him under the politicians. Subcategorizing DD

I really think that splitting Diane's cats into Fantasy and SF is too detailed. I think we should move them back into Category:Novels by Diane Duane.--SarekOfVulcan 20:35, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I only do this because of Category:Science fiction novels by author and Category:Fantasy novels by author. If a user browses to that category and looks for DD, he should find her, but it seems inappropriate to put Category:Novels by Diane Duane in either one. ⇔ ChristTrekker 20:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment i have found it very convincing, that's why i did some research and added more then 5 outside sources and references to the article, i am in the midle of sifting through the Google results on him and i hope to have at-least 20 outside sources, meanwhile i thank u for your reason i found it very troubling that one group who is the majority can silence an other group because their mission is not in their interest, i hope this isn't like the majority rule here, and i am convinced that if i will be just as loud and active as them i can help stop the deletion of all those messianic articles, et me hope i am not that naive.--יודל 19:50, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

First, I assume that you are actually Jim Jagielski and not merely a rabid fan. ☺ I'd like to get the article restored, and based on the AfD results it seems that mainly it needs independent sources that verify notability, plus some cleanup for "proper biographical tone". But my time is limited and beyond some reformatting I'm not sure where to go with this. Maybe I will try to do at least that much. (If you happen to have any nuggets of A/UX wisdom that you haven't already dispensed, feel free to share. Thanks for the efforts... I'm surprised that Blaxthos is being so rabid about deletion... I'm particularly surprised by the The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability statement. Certainly whatever "claims" are made in the article are verified and verifiable. And they certainly appear to all be reliable sources (unless his claim is that I'm hacking the ASF site and various Google references to add myself ☺ Heck, if that was the case, that that's notable!) But I'm afraid that it is a Catch22. For example, if he were to complain that the claim that I co-founded the ASF is unverified, I could point to http://www.apache.org/foundation/bylaws.html and http://www.apache.org/foundation/records/minutes/1999/board_minutes_1999_04_13.txt; at which point he would then say that that doesn't matter because now it is a conflict of interest issue, since I am providing the references... List of churches in Omaha

Hey ChristTrekker, thanks for bringing this to my attention. As it stands, I agree with the nom, because there is no encyclopedic value to the list. I ran into this issue early with a list of synagogues in Omaha, where I smashed the AfD by blowing out the article with all the information I could find about Omaha's Jewish community.
