March Madness 2017[edit]

G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

For the Milhist co-ordinators. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) & MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi Cirt, you might be interested in Tax status of Scientology in the United States. I'd appreciate (by email?) any thoughts you might have. Prioryman (talk) 15:35, 4 March 2017 (UTC)

In some benign wp:CANVASSING[edit]

Community input is politely requested for Jimbo's tkpg with regard ur expertise in gen. notability per wp:GNG & applicabilities of eg wp:PROF, wp:AUTH, etc. w/in AfD's
... here: User talk:Jimbo Wales#Suggested fix.--Hodgdon's secret garden (talk) 01:06, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

I.e.: Is Matthew Grow, editor of The Council of Fifty, Minutes, March 1844–January 1846 (The Church Historian's Press, which is an imprint of Deseret Book; 2016), notable? Is Benjamin E. Park, who reviews him here: "The Mormon Council of Fifty: What Joseph Smith’s Secret Records Reveal" (Religion & Politics, September 9, 2016)? Please chime in on a way to determine such questions in a much more consistent manner than at present...here: User_talk:Jimbo_Wales#Suggested_fix.--Hodgdon's secret garden (talk) 18:59, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals) § RfC about marking the Featured portals process as "historical"[edit]

You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals) § RfC about marking the Featured portals process as "historical". Despite your general inactivity on Wikipedia as of late, I'm surprised that nobody has informed you of this discussion yet. North America1000 07:15, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

Is this notable?[edit]

I was prodding a bunch of non-notable fictional elements and found something you may enjoy looking into and rescuing: Frak (expletive). Cheers! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:43, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
