Please check sources before changing articles[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. Your recent edit to the page Utah appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The reference for St. George as the fastest-growing area clearly had it both listed in the table and ranked at #1. —C.Fred (talk) 16:32, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. St. George, Utah Comment[edit]

I do not mean to discourage your further editing within Wikipedia, but I understand your frustration. I removed the content you added from St. George, Utah because it sounded promotional, like something I would find in a tourism brochure. This does not meet the Neutral point of view (NPOV) standards for Wikipedia. You mentioned Flagstaff, Grand Junction, and Salt Lake City as examples that you modeled your text after. While those articles are not the gold standard, their intros maintain a NPOV and in some cases the assertions made are supported by reliable, third party references (either at the end of the into sentence/paragraph or elsewhere in the body of the article). Some of this has already been pointed out before, such as in the Arts and culture (tagged in January 2003) which some of the detail you referenced to in your intro draws on. If you have any questions, or would like help rewriting the intro paragraph, please let me know. BarkeepChat/$ 14:32, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I removed your edit to Washington, Utah because it was mostly unsourced personal opinion. Also, WP:USCITIES outlines that demographic data should come from the US Census. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:18, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
