February 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, I have reverted your recent copy-and-paste changes to a number of large London railway stations. Please discuss any similar proposed changes on a suitable talk page in future; if the outcome is a consensus to rename a page, they can be moved properly rather than by copy and paste. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia. —Sladen (talk) 02:34, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Talk:London Euston railway station, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Talk:London Euston railway station is a nonsense redirect page formed as a result of the reversion of page move vandalism (CSD G3).

Underground lines[edit]

I have already been heavily involved in this discussion since autumn 2007. Please see exhibits A and B in Talk:Northern line#Requested move for example. best, Sunil060902 (talk) 15:55, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

The picture surely should convince you.

Would you change iPod to Ipod? best, Sunil060902 (talk) 13:01, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I notice you don't deny the lower case "line" in the picture! Anyway, if you want to move "the guardian" please raise the issue on that Talk page. best, Sunil060902 (talk) 14:19, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
But you probably need to ask Guardian Media Group, since they use still use capital G for Guardian. best, Sunil060902 (talk) 13:10, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

The article London Buses route 69 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable bus-route. No evidence of notability per WP:GNG, and not even an assertion of notability.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please make yourself familiar with the special rules of engagement for that article and make sure you discuss all reverts on the talk page in advance, before you make them. You may be blocked from editing otherwise. Fut.Perf. 21:45, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Understanding the manometery equation[edit]

Hey Clover345,

Even if you are satisfied that there was a typo in answer key for your WP:RDS#Manometery equation, I'd still like to understand the problem to know how you came up with the "800". No obligation, of course, but you've piqued my curiosity. -- ToE 05:42, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi, 800 is the actual density as opposed to the relative density which is 0.8. I think I missed that detail out in the question. Clover345 (talk) 18:34, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Ah! So your manometer was filled with alcohol instead of mercury. Thanks for following up on that. I've added a note to the archived question. -- ToE 05:47, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

letting you know[edit]

Hi. I combined your questions on road bases and sub bases at the ref desk to avoid overlapping answers. μηδείς (talk) 00:31, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Rosenblatt transform[edit]

Hey Clover! If you don't mind me asking, what brings you to be working with Rosenblatt transforms, and do you have a link to your material or the name of the textbook, so we can understand the context of you mu and your sigma? As far as I can tell, the most relevant WP article might be probability integral transform.

Also, are you squared away with the inequality or did you want a more explicit explanation? It is pretty common for students in an advanced class to stumble on properties of inequalities which they should have learned years ago in algebra. -- ToE 01:33, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the rosenblatt transform is part of calculating probabilities using First Order Reliability Method which I don't think Wikipedia has an article on either and to be honest, I can't find many textbooks with a comprehensive review of it. Only academic papers which are quite difficult to understand. Clover345 (talk) 15:50, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
Hey. I really should have asked that on the reference desk, but since Impsswoon has done so, why don't you mention you application there, and give a link to the paper you are working from, so that we will understand the context of your mu and your sigma. -- ToE 16:51, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
OK, I understand that you have successfully worked through the algebra problem, but are frustrated that it was such a problem for you. Perhaps you just need to give it time and practice to bring back fluency.
Anyhow, could you provide the relevant equation numbers (they are in parentheses, on the right margin) so we don't have to search through the paper to find the particular mu's and sigma's you are interested in. It may be beyond my ability to help, but if you give the equation numbers on the desk and better describe what you are trying to do, someone might come through. -- ToE 22:57, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for all your help. Clover345 (talk) 18:27, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
