${\displaystyle \lambda _{o}=\lambda _{s}{\sqrt {\frac {1-v/c}{1+v/c}}}}$
${\displaystyle \lambda _{s}=}$the wavelength of the light emitted from the source (the traffic light)
${\displaystyle \lambda _{o}=}$the observed wavelength (by the person in the car)
v = the relative velocity (in this case, the speed of the car)
c = the speed of light (exactly 299,792,458 m/s)

Hey Comrade. Could you put a copyright on Image:Schrodingerscat.jpg, which you uploaded? It says you made it, so if you want to allow Wikipedia to use it freely and let others use it, please add the text {{GFDL}} to the description page. Thanks! 24.224.153.40 00:31, 17 May 2005 (UTC)

Please see Talk:Demographics of Croatia with regard to the image. I appreciate the effort, but it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. I'm sorry. --Joy [shallot] 17:51, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

VfD on Gracious Professionalism

Hey there,

I noticed that you put a VfD tag on Gracious professionalism on 4/22/05 but you didn't finish the process. Would you like to follow up on the VfD or would you prefer to abandon the process? As a FIRST alum I believe the information on Gracious professionalism should be merged into the main article on FIRST and deleted.

I should have been clearer in my previous post. The process for getting an article deleted through voting (the only way to do it unless the article is patent nonsense) is a little complicated. I'd suggest reading the Guide to Votes for Deletion for all the details WP:GVFD. A description of how to list a page for VfD is at the bottom of WP:VFD. Good catch by the way. Hi, I'm a fellow Wikipedian who's also based in Madison. I'm also a freelance writer, and I've been commissioned to write an article on Wikipedia. Just wondering if you might have any interest in chatting/being interviewed/being quoted for this article. If you are, can you either reply @ my talk page, or email me at pce53703 *at* gmail dot com? Thanks! NickBurns 15:55, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Alfonsosastre.jpg

 This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Alfonsosastre.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. SteinbDJ 01:06, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for this image. Can you verify that all the images you used in its creation are public domain or GFDL? Thanks! --Ryan Delaney talk 22:21, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:KohlCenterExterior.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:KohlCenterExterior.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ccwaters 01:45, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:KohlCenterInterior.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:KohlCenterInterior.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I just tried to view your interview, and the page was blank. Just figured I tell you. --ASDFGHJKL=Greatest Person Ever+Coolest Person Ever 01:19, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Szybalski.jpg

 This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Szybalski.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:53, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Comrade009! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Proposed deletion of Alfonso Sastre

The article Alfonso Sastre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced BLP, October 2009

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. –– Jezhotwells (talk) 12:19, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

I saw that you live in Madison (based on your userpage), so if you're interested, I wanted to invite you to a humanities edit-a-thon in the Madison Public Library on Friday, April 25th (1:30–3:30). It'll be on the shorter side and is aimed at new editors, but I hope to see you there. More information is available on the 2014 UW Conference on the Public Humanities website. ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
