Commandant Frank Bestbier of 1 SAI[edit]

Hi I see you have removed my add to 1 SAI under notable commanders. Commandant is historically significant. He is one of the initiators of Mechanised Infantry of which 1 SAI was the first. He is also the first commander of 61 Mech the unit which eventually operationalised the theory taught at 1 SAI. Your removal makes no sense whatsoever.

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Old Wanderers[edit]

I propose to undo your revert of my edit for Old Wanderers. Use of the modern South African flag for a ground that closed in the 1940s is anachronistic. 79.71.9.109 (talk) 17:19, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited R59 (South Africa), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alberton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Routes[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the metropolitan routes of Johannesburg and regional South African routes. As someone who spent a fair bit of time on them a few years back, it is good to come past and see someone carry on the labour. I know the pain of looking at multiple mapbooks and online sources and getting conflicting routes. I don't know if you've seen what the M7 looks like per a late 80s Mapstudio map, but it's not the same as more recent ones at all! Garble (talk) 08:56, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

@Garble: Thanks for you comments. Do route signs still exist in Johannesburg? Hahahaha. Is my M7 route wrong?. Conlinp (talk) 10:55, 4 February 2019 (UTC) No, but it was rerouted at some point (probably when they deprecated the M6? The current M6 is I think reused...) I haven't been based in Johannesburg since 2012, but route signs are not well-marked. I'm now in Cape Town, which is better, but not great. There are just as many mysteries in the Cape Town Metropolitan Route schema... !! Garble (talk) 16:18, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
