ANI notification[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:27, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please join the ANI discussion regarding your editing, especially before trying to change any more names in articles.–CaroleHenson (talk) 03:07, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As a quick note, if User:TheCRW is an alternative account of yours, can you confirm this via this account. They have said some stuff but we are unsure that they are you so will dismiss anything they have said. If TheCRW is not you, it would also also be useful, although not required, for you to mentioned that. Nil Einne (talk) 05:20, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Editing[edit]

I see that you have edited a number of articles and changing or adding to the names of the subjects of the articles. It appears, though, that you are making these edits without the addition of a citation. Before adding content, you should be adding citations of reliable secondary sources. In addition, in some cases you appear to be changing the name to someone's birth name, rather than their common name, which is also an issue. Please don't make any more changes to names of subjects of articles without complying with these guidelines. I would be happy to talk through what you are doing and how to do this without making what are called disruptive edits, meaning edits that need to be reverted because they do not meet guidelines.

Please see the discussion at ANI about this, and it would be good if you could comment there.–CaroleHenson (talk) 13:56, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tutorials[edit]

There are two kinds of tutorials here: The Wikipedia Adventure and standard tutorial that can help you get up to speed on Wikipedia guidelines. There's also Writing better articles that is helpful and gets at many of the same key points.

Regarding contributing to talk pages, please see WP:Talk pages.–CaroleHenson (talk) 13:58, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry[edit]

Hi CoolRichWiseGuy,

I want to make sure you know about our policy on sock puppetry. One person, one account. No exceptions, but for rare cases outlined in that policy page, and never when the first account has been indefinitely blocked. Did you create this account because User:Smart Aleck was blocked in March? If you want that account to be unblocked, you need to ask there for an unblock, and give good reasons. Pinging User:Diannaa, User:Dr.K.. Thanks, Antandrus (talk) 15:34, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Antandrus: Thank you very much Antandrus. I have seen Smart Aleck around and perhaps even reverted a few of his edits, although I have to check. It seems to me that there are similarities between Aleck and CRWG. Perhaps, I should file an SPI. I have to check more into this, however. Dr. K. 20:35, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Antandrus again. Yes, I did revert Aleck's spam on Gustav Mahler. Dr. K. 20:39, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I did a bit of spot-checking and it seems there could be a connection. From the user analysis tool, articles that they have both edited, and the edits that they have both made, I think that there is a strong case for an SPI, Dr.K.. See the Bach family, edits for instance.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:05, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
And perhaps a connection with RandomGuy2018. There is similarity there between the articles that they edit, and how they edit them. But, there is only one common article that they've edited. See [1].–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:13, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I've blocked this account as a sockpuppet of User:Smart Aleck. If you wish to be unblocked, please make your case there. You may not have multiple accounts on Wikipedia. Antandrus (talk) 22:16, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
