Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Mohan Lal Grero - Royal Preparatory School (untrue, false, no refs)[edit]

Your edits for Mohan Lal Grero with edit summary corrected name - Latest revision as of 17:40, 20 May 2013 is totally untrue, false, no refs. He moved from Royal College Colombo (not Royal Preparatory School) to Ananda College Colombo for secondary education (http://www.mlgfoundation.org/biography.htm Mohan Lal Grero Foundation), (http://www.mohanlalgrero.com/Biography.php Mohan Lal Grero Biography),(http://www.sundaytimes.lk/100418/News/page8.pdf New Faces in Parliament)(Wo2gana (talk) 23:55, 20 May 2013 (UTC)).

Simply how can it be "untrue, false" when the refs say that he gained his primary education at Royal before attending Ananda in 1966 for secondary education; Royal didnt have a primary section till 1977 when Royal Preparatory School was merged to Royal College.Cossde (talk) 13:21, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Simply none of the refs say Royal Preparatory School. Article can still be edited as Royal College Colombo, isn't it ?. Dhammika Kitulgoda - corrected per ref to Rahula Vidyalaya Matara(Wo2gana (talk) 04:26, 22 May 2013 (UTC)).
Yes, the ref is correct in the case of Dhammika Kitulgoda as it says that "his secondary education at Royal College, Colombo". The refs you have provided are wrong as until 1977 Royal College, Colombo did not have a primary section as ref states "The Royal Junior School although considered as a separate entity from the main Royal College back then, it was inevitable that the juniors after grade 7 or 8 would move into College. ". The function of a primary school was provided by Royal Preparatory School. Therefor it is Royal Preparatory School that Grero attended not Royal College Colombo. Cossde (talk) 17:34, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
No, reply is inverted and directed to some where else to add confusion (going in a loop). Point is body of article was edited Rahula College Matara to Rahula Vidyalaya Matara because ref says (http://www.island.lk/2008/04/01/news1.html Dhammika Kitulgoda' is an old boy of Rahula Vidyalaya Matara). Here is the link to the edit done by you. None of the refs for Mohan Lal Grero, say he attended Royal Preparatory School. Hence the article can be corrected per ref saying he attended Royal College Colombo.(Wo2gana (talk) 02:35, 23 May 2013 (UTC)).
I'm sorry if your unwilling or incapable of understanding what I am trying to tell here. First the ref for Dhammika Kitulgoda is correct. But, the refs you have given for Grero are not correct since, Royal College Colombo did not have a primary section during the years Grero have suppose to have attended (1960-1966). Therefore he attended Royal Preparatory School in 1960-1966. Since Royal Preparatory School was taken over by Royal College Colombo in 1977 becoming the primary section of Royal College Colombo. Therefore Grero is technically an alumni of Royal College Colombo, but he attended Royal Preparatory School not Royal College Colombo. Cossde (talk) 12:57, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Not a question of unwilling or being incapable, nevertheless you being so capable going beyond the refs even when the person who (may ?) have studied at the institution forgotten to mention on his own web site ?. But on the contrary, you were so willing and capable of changing Rahula College to Rahula Vidyalaya as per ref (I agree on this). However you were very unwilling or uncapable of claiming that Dhammika Kitulgoda was not educated at Rahula College Matara. This is nothing against or for Royal College Colombo or any other institution. You are no different to me or any other editor as information is taken from sources that are considered to be reliable. Happy editing.(Wo2gana (talk) 01:33, 24 May 2013 (UTC)).
Rahula College and Rahula Vidyalaya is one and the same institution. In 1960-1966 Royal College Colombo and Royal Preparatory School were not the same. It is the burden of the editor who adds the content to provided reliable sources. His or her own website is a primary source and unreliable if contested, and the other source seems to have based its information on the Grero's Foundation and is clearly inaccurate. Cossde (talk) 07:12, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Fellow editor: burden, reliable sources, contest, clearly inaccurate - have fun (Wo2gana (talk) 00:20, 28 May 2013 (UTC)).

Bandarawela Central College[edit]

Glendale Bungalow is a building = True, Bandarawela Central College is a school = True, Both of these can't be the same = building can't be a school but the school needs a building to accommodate students. In 1942, Forms 1 to 3 of the Royal College, Colombo, were shifted to Glendale Bungalow in Bandarawela, where Bandarawela Central College stands today.(http://www.royalthomian.info/articles_pages/RC-07/A%20bief%20history-new.html A brief history of Royal College),(http://www.bandarawela.sch.lk/history.html History of Bandarawela Central College), (http://www.sundaytimes.lk/030713/plus/3.htm Learning of books and men and how to play the game)(Wo2gana (talk) 01:42, 24 May 2013 (UTC)).

So, these goes to show that the affiliation Royal College, Colombo has is with Glendale Bungalow and not Bandarawela Central College. "building can't be a school but the school needs a building to accommodate students" isn't that OR ? Cossde (talk) 07:17, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Lumbini Royal College Kandy[edit]

Masu7's latest sock created Lumbini Royal College Kandy. Is this a real school? Or is this an alternate name of something else? If it's a legitimate topic for WP, I don't want to delete it, but if it's already covered under another name, I'll just redirect and protect it. Qwyrxian (talk) 10:36, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

We've been over this many times before, Cossde. People on lists must be verified in reliable sources. This can be on their WP page if they have one, but, if there is no page, it must be on the list page. Furthermore, rootsweb is very much not a reliable source. Normally I'd just explain this patiently, but this is not the first or even second time we've had this discussion. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:22, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Who's the master?[edit]

I've forgotten--who's the master for our Sri Lankan sockpuppeteer? I assume that User: DasviTh 9 is the same person...the level of proficiency clearly indicates previous experience, the topics are suspect (though some of them may actually deserve WP articles), and the creation of a duplicate version of Panadura Royal College is a pretty clear give away. I forgot who the master is, so I can't file the WP:SPI. Qwyrxian (talk) 11:46, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Wilfred de Soysa[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Wilfred de Soysa has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

non-notable person

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give S. W. B Wadugodapitiya a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into S. W. B. Wadugodapitiya. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. obi2canibetalk contr 20:52, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Tikiri Bandara Panabokke I[edit]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tikiri Bandara Panabokke I, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wn.com/Tikiri_Bandara_Panabokke.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Speedy deletion nomination of Dian Gomes[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Dian Gomes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, Speedy delete contest button.svg. Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —jameslucas (" " / +) 22:05, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, SLIIT[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, SLIIT, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Prathamadhara Padakkama[edit]

Hi Cossde. I was just tidying up the Police medals page and came across a couple of medals that I thought would be better if the page names were translated into English, the Prathamadhara Padakkama being one, which you created. While awards like the Parama Weera Vibhushanaya have a rich meaning behind the native name, things like a simple first aid award would, I think, benefit from a standard English title, and be more understandable by an international audience at first glance. Would you have any objections if I went ahead and changed the page's name to "Sri Lanka Police First Aid Medal"? - ක - (talk) 06:47, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
