Easter Proclamation[edit]

"The key thing about the 1916 rebels was that they had no electoral mandate whatsoever. Unlike various groups trying to stage rebellions (usually very badly) in Burma, Greece under the junta, Vichy France, various African states, etc the 1916 leaders had no form of mandate whatsoever. They didn't even have a political party until they took over Griffith's Sinn Féin. FearÉIREANNIreland-Capitals.PNG\(caint) 14:16, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

....or a secret organisation until they took over the IRB, which then subverted the Irish Volunteers.--Damac 15:08, 1 May 2006 (UTC)"

Damac, was that a joke? It really was a slow burner! It was hours before I was struck by the absurdity of teachers and poets taking over a secret, oath-bound, physical force organisation. I think it went over FearÈIREANN's head. Nice one! Scolaire 22:32, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Pasok courts Muslim Pomak Greek politician

Herete Damac! Maybe we should add this link to the Muslims_in_Greece article! What have you got to say? Apostolos Margaritis 15:30, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Gia Apostoli! You know, I had just finished writing an article about Karahasan for Wikipedia when the electricity went! By all means mention it in the article. I just note that the article above suggests Karahasan is a Pomak. She seems herself to suggest that she is Turkish.--Damac 15:34, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Irish constituency moves[edit]

Hi Damac, I saw that you had cast your vote on my proposed moves of articles on Irish aprtliamentary constituencies, at Category talk:Parliamentary constituencies in the Republic of Ireland. I have written a long (and possibly over-long!) reply to the discussion at Category talk:Parliamentary constituencies in the Republic of Ireland#The_case_for_a_consistent_naming_format, and wondered if you would like to take a look and see whether you could reconsider your vote? --BrownHairedGirl 15:51, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Eurovision 2006[edit]

Tell me, please, tell me, why did you know the results BEFORE they announced them... --Kokoo 21:21, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

I didn't. I was sitting at home (in Athens) with one eye on the television and one eye on Wikipedia. I just cut and paste as the votes came in. Simple really!--Damac 22:00, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
