Notability of Jack Sparks[edit]

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jack Sparks, by Brianga, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jack Sparks seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jack Sparks, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Jack Sparks itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:18, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Arcanum (Book)[edit]

Hello Damiantgordon. I posted a discussion on the talk page of Arcanum (Book) concerning a potential copyright violation, specifically the section Origins of The Arcanum by Thomas Wheeler. Just making sure you saw it. Check the link here to make sure you are alright. WDavis1911 08:19, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

The Paper Chase (TV series)[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Paper Chase (TV series), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: The Paper Chase. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 12:06, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of The Prisoner in popular culture[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Prisoner in popular culture, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non notable

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Opening and closing sequences of The Prisoner[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

I have nominated Opening and closing sequences of The Prisoner, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Opening and closing sequences of The Prisoner. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Wizardman 03:16, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

LEoG 3 annotations[edit]

Primarily? It's a page by page, panel by panel break down of what's in the book. It under cuts the need for those casually interested to buy the book.

We aren't working to a deadline so we can wait for the book to actually be on sale be for cramming spoiler information into the article or pointing readers to website that is exclusively spoilers.

Bangsian fantasy[edit]

Thanks so much for finding and adding that cite. It worried me (I didn't choose nitpyck as a name by chance) that there seemed to be no one using that term before it existed on Wikipedia. Nitpyck (talk) 01:50, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Dragon/Green Hornet[edit]

Thank your for your kind note about our edits at The Green Hornet. I'm thinking, as you forthrightly noted, that as the movie is semi-fictionalized, we don't know if these cast/crew reactions in the are real or not; most Hollywood crew-members in real life are fairly jaded and seen-it-all. Leaving that aside, however, talking about "the tenor of the scene" seems an interpretation of primary-source material; certainly, a citation by a film critic to this effect would be preferable. But I think the largest issue is that this isn't a Bruce Lee article, but a Green Hornet article, and since there is a separate Dragon entry, this basic paragraph under the "main article" link really only needs to discuss the basic connection with the Green Hornet TV series. (And I do see that the section on the 2011 movie runs long as has extraneous detail best left to the main article; I just haven't had a chance to trim it.) Am I addressing your concerns? What is your take on my points? --Tenebrae (talk) 18:35, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for this, you are absolutely right, I was interpreting the scene as opposed to reporting the facts, and it is just really a pointer to the main article, thanks for the clarification. I frequently forget this is an encyclopedia and I tend write articles like it is a fan site :-( Damiantgordon (talk) 19:02, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
And thank you for the nice reply. And I do think your insertion of the Batman / Green Hornet crossover was right on. My God, I remember being a kid barely able to wait a week for those episodes to air! To this day I remember how sadly paunchy Adam West's Batman looked in comparison to Van Williams' Green Hornet. Then again, a great topcoat can hide a lot of flaws! --Tenebrae (talk) 20:18, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Jupiter's Circle[edit]

Hi. Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with this edit to Jupiter's Legacy. As you should know, since you've been editing here for a long time, this violates Wikipedia's Verifiability policy. The material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, and as you can see, I've worked hard to make sure that a citation indicates where every piece of information in the article comes from. I've going to go over Jupiter's Circle #3 to add info from that issue to the article, so if the info you added is derived from that book, I'll re-add it, but in the future, please do not add such info without citations. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 12:48, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Non-free rationale for File:RowanAtkinsonAsMaigret.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RowanAtkinsonAsMaigret.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from The Exorcist (film) into The Exorcist. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:38, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of References to earlier series in Endeavour[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article References to earlier series in Endeavour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Already tagged for original research, this is a fork off Endeavour that doesn't merit its own article IMO

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
