Re HBLR station and street merges

Hey Dan,

Just noticed your month-old comment at Talk:Hoboken Terminal objecting to the merger of HBLR station articles with their respective namesake streets. I completely agree; the street and the station are not the same thing at all and should not be merged. To that end I've undone the ill-advised merge at Marin Boulevard (HBLR station). The two issues I'm having are that A) I'm not sure how to fix the s-line templates so the succession in the infobox actually point to the station article and not the street article, and B) Fixing MLK Blvd is going to be a pain, as the article was moved to create the street article, and the redirect has too much history. I haven't checked the Bayonne branch stations yet (I'm doing that next), but I was wondering if you could lend a hand. oknazevad (talk) 19:36, 11 May 2012 (UTC) PS, I don't really know if these streets are even notable enough to support their own articles.

Actually, I figured it out. But I appreciate you bringing it up. oknazevad (talk) 20:00, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, I left the road articles intact for now; I would think whether it not to merge them into the roads lists are a legit topic for discussion, but i didnt want to do it unilaterally as it would be too disruptive. I'm not much of a road guy (rails>roads, as my railroad.net signature says), and have no real opinion on their fates, but it was just ludicrous to merge the road and station articles. Hope your Internet access improves quickly. oknazevad (talk) 20:44, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Re:NWP at Metro-North

I see what your saying, but my main reason for the edit was to pipe around the parenthetical disambiguator, which shouldn't be left in running text. And since one shouldn't pipe around redirects, there was no reason not to just use the correct article title.

Even so, it's not really that notable that it was built during the Penn Central era, because by 1972 the state was heavily involved in the subsidizing of the commuter operations out of Grand Central that would become Metro-North. The MTA, which had been formed in 1965, by 1972 owned or leased all NY commuter trackage, had purchased the M-1A and M-2's for Penn Central (which bore the MTA logo), paid all subsidies, and helped set the schedules, even. In short, the building of North White Plains wasn't a Penn Central project, but an MTA one. oknazevad (talk) 14:53, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

But as the redirect won't actually appear because of the piping, there's no need to use it. It's not like the redirect is going to be made into a separate article someday, which would be the only reason to continue to link to it. Again, parenthetical disambiguators are merely a technological necessity and should not be used to convey information that properly belongs in the body of the article. And they should never be left unpiped in body text. So it's just not needed. oknazevad (talk) 15:06, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Then add the source not Steve Anderson. Don't come complaining to me about my decision to remove a SPS cited sentence, you should know this. Mitch32(There is a destiny that makes us... family.) 01:55, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

RE: 33rd St photo

No stunts necessary for that photo, i simply extended my arm over the edge of the platform with my camera.

Lamia (D&D)

Hello, as you took part in the 1st AFD for Lamia (Dungeons & Dragons), which closed on "no consensus", I'm bringing to your attention that after a second AFD with the same result, a discussion on whether to merge or not has opened on the article talk page. BOZ (talk) 11:31, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
