Legality

[edit]

Legality is WotC/DCI; Magic: Online; other organizing bodies. Should there be additions subtractions?

Content

[edit]

Still working on content... the introduction might be better written, as well as the main section headings. Anyone who wants to edit a TBC can, but sign it here please.

K, the first thought is that the first entries in the list aren't actually variants of their own. Attack Left/Right, Multiple, Deploy and Range are sub-variants of Multiplayer. So I think it would be better to cover them in a slightly different fashion. Options for Multiplayer or something might be the best way to describe them, and not trying to put them in the same kind of appearance as other variants, because really, they could be applied to any multiplayer game. This also applies to some of the Vanguard stuff. Vanguard is itself a variant, changes like random assignment of avatars doesn't work. Covering the different vanguards IRL and online is important though.

Second thought, some of the descriptions in later sections could use some improvement. It just feels odd to me describing the teams as facing each other. Or around a table. I wouldn't include any of that at all, as it feels distracting. But that's a writing thing, and less important than the first. Also I'd modify the Multi-headed giant statement about losing. It's possible to play it so that the team only loses when all players are eliminated (this is an option on Magic online). But these are just minor edits, nothing that significant about them. Alright, I took care of most of that (I think I got all the references to seating around a table). Would it be helpful to find (or create) some images to represent how players are seated (particularly in the cases of the Teams and Emperor variants)? Darkelfpoet 13:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notes From Others

[edit]
Sorry for editing when you're working on it, but I was browsing around and I noticed one of the ones you were still working on, star specifically. I was with a group of friends that regularly went to tournaments and came up with a couple of the star formats, and played it on the side at multiple tournaments and have shared with a lot of people how it is played both on and offline. As one of the people involved with that original group, since our format seems to be gaining popularity, it seemed this place was the best to put it. Also, I added the rules for the Evil Adviser deck construction method. I hope you like the addition, if not, I apologize. --Starfyredragon (talk) 05:46, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
