Sources for Device Bay[edit]

Hello. Good work on Device Bay , and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not provide any references or sources in the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. Can you list in the article any websites, books, or other sources that will allow people to verify the content in Device Bay ? You can simply add links, preferably as inline citations, or see citation templates for different citation methods. Thanks! Shawnc 12:56, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Re: Photo of Calder Park Thunderdome NOT from 1997[edit]

Hi mate, sorry it must have been from the year after, It was many years ago when I took the photos so I cant remember exactly. I found the old race program and appears the cars in the photo are from the 1998 meeting. I will edit the title to reflect the correct year. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Norm 0 orig.jpg)[edit]

Nuvola apps important blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Norm 0 orig.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:50, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Manos Vandalism[edit]

What you saw on "Manos" The Hands of Fate was typical vandalism, and the editor who uploaded and placed the image has been permanently blocked. In the future, just revert to the last unvandalized version and give the vandal a warning. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 06:10, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Mercury articles[edit]

Hello,

Please leave the infobox production dates for the Mercury models as "-present". The autos are still being produced. We've all heard production is scheduled to end, but the infoboxes must represent what has actually happened, not expectations (see WP:CRYSTAL), even if there are good references for those expectations. When production officially stops, then we can change the infobox dates to "-(end date)". Thanks, --Vossanova o< 16:25, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

I'd say that an official announcement on the Mercury website stating that the brand is closing down in 2010 would be about as good a source as you can get and as opposite to crystal balling as you can get. 2010 *is* the present - the dates in these car articles don't go by months. Do you really think Ford is going to reverse it's decision and resurrect the Mercury brand at the last minute?? Davez621 (talk) 17:08, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
"-2010" can be interpreted as production having already stopped -- which it did not. But even if you were to add "Q4 2010" or such, there is no certainty that any particular model will stop being produced at a specific time. The infobox should contain only definite facts, and "present" is definite. We can inform the reader about the expected end of production by writing about it in one of the paragraphs of the article. --Vossanova o< 21:28, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Sales figures[edit]

Hi, thanks for adding sales figures the the Commodore, Falcon, and Magna articles. Where did you get this information from? I can't seem to find historical VFACTS data online. Regards, OSX (talkcontributions) 13:15, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

It all comes from VFACTS. I'm assuming it's okay to re-post it here, as it's for non-commercial purposes? VFACTS don't publish the information online, so it's impossible to link any of it to an actual source. Davez621 (talk) 13:23, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi, there is no problems re-publishing sales figures (in fact, please do!), you can't copyright a number (I hope so anyway). Where does VFACTS publish the information? I been after this for a while now. OSX (talkcontributions) 13:42, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
You have to pay them for it I'm afraid. That's how I obtained most of my older reports going back to 1991 (which is when VFACTS started the reports). Some data going back to 1990 is also available for free in this document here:

http://www.innovation.gov.au/Industry/Automotive/Statistics/Documents/KeyAutomotiveStatistics1999.pdf Go to page 30. Davez621 (talk) 13:54, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Same problem again. Public sources are always preferred but even if the source is by subscription only then it still needs to be listed as the reference. That way people who are willing to pay the subscription can still verify the numbers.  Stepho  talk  13:50, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

The Shire (TV series)[edit]

Hello, I noticed you created the article on "The Shire". I'm just wondering why you stated that it's broadcast in 1080i HDTV and Dolby 5.1? As far as I know, it's going to be shown on Channel 10, who only broadcast in SD (576i) and stereo. Only "One HD" shows HD content.MisterZed (talk) 13:28, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Don't remember making that contribution but if I did it was an error. Thanks. J Bar (talk) 02:31, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Sorry my mistake - the information in the infobox may have been added after you created the article. MisterZed (talk) 14:37, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Honda Civic (ninth generation), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ayutthaya (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of Selling Houses Australia[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Selling Houses Australia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. The fact that it's on TV does not make it inherently notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Hello, I'm GoneIn60. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Blockbuster LLC, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Blockbuster[edit]

When you have a chance, please read Wikipedia's policies regarding reliable sources. Also take a look at WP:PSTS, which explains the significance of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources. Citing Blockbuster's Australia website is a primary source. While primary sources can be used in a careful manner, Wikipedia generally prefers secondary and tertiary sources. They are one step removed from the subject, and they help show that the information you are trying to add is significant to the article's topic. Per WP:NOT, just because something is factual, it doesn't necessarily need to be on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of all that is true about something. WP:DUE shows that information must hold some significance to the topic, which secondary sources help provide. And finally, the Blockbuster site doesn't explicitly mention the number of stores left. You would actually have to search and count them. That's borderline original research which is not permitted.

Please don't take any of this negatively. If anything, it's to help you understand how you can better contribute to this online encyclopedia. We could use more editors like you to search through articles removing junk and adding significant information to them. The Getting Started help page is great place to start. Hope that helps. --GoneIn60 (talk) 18:18, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Seven HD 2016[edit]

It is unconfirmed that Seven will be broadcasting in HD, and on the articles you have edited, there is no source stating the program is filmed in HD anyway. Please ensure you use a source with your edits. -- Whats new?(talk) 07:57, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
