I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi Davidindia. Thank you for your work on Raj Kumari (para powerlifting). Another editor, Fade258, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for the creation but WP:TIMESOFINDIA is not considered as a reliable reference. If possible please replace it by another reliable reference.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Fade258}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
Fade258 (talk) 05:14, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi
{{Re|Fade258}}Thanks for reviewing the page. I am aware of WP:TimesOfIndia. I used the ToI reference only for YoB and not for notability as the BLP has enough citations to pass GNG. I have examined and used the ToI ref with caution, checked it is not paid news and have also added other refs. Unfortunately, the DoB in the Asian Games official database which we all had access to when I created the page (and scores of other Indian Asiad winners' BLPs) as part of WiR in June 2024 is not available anymore. So I guess that citation can be left like that, or if you feel it should be removed, I will deleted the YoB and the reference. Thanks again and Happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 06:15, 5 September 2025 (UTC)- Fade258 (talk) Looks like u did not get to see my msg... Link did not work I think. When you have a minute, please check the Raj Kumari page again! thanks Davidindia (talk) 15:53, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Davidindia, Sorry for late reply. Honestly, I didn't get notification from your first message as I get notification only from your follow–up (second) message. I want to clarify you that, I didn't tell you that TOI was used for establishing notability. As I suggest you to replace TOI references only. Obviously, there's enough references to meet GNG. So, I have marked it as a reviewed. If you find more references then feel free to add otherwise just leave it as it was. Don't get panic. Thank You! Fade258 (talk) 16:34, 5 September 2025 (UTC)

Women in Green's 9th Edit-a-thon
[edit]
Hello Davidindia:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

Expired Reference Domain: lagatar.com
[edit]Hello Davidindia
I noticed that the domain lagatar.com, which has been cited as a reference in multiple Wikipedia articles.
The domain has expired and currently shows a “domain may be for sale” page.
Could you advise on the best course of action?
Should all references to this domain be removed, or is it preferable to try and replace them with archived versions if available?
Thank you for your guidance.
Best regards Bech07 (talk) 07:47, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Bech07, Kindly not remove citations solely because the URL is dead as per WP:CS. They still may be verifiable as archived copy may be available... look for them. Place a "dead link" template, check Template:Dead link. Then seek alternative sources and you can also consult or get support from WikiProject Resource Exchange or the Help Desk. However, you can remove hopelessly lost web-only reference if there is no archived version. You may leave it for others editors to check is an archived version is there. I am a bit busy this week. Later, I can check, which articles are you referring to. thanks and hope this info helps. Happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 08:57, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
Nomination of Malati Munda for deletion
[edit]The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Malati Munda until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.Svartner (talk) 04:55, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Svartner (talk), Thanks for reviewing the page and pinging me, I will respond on the Deletion discussion page. For the last several months, I have been doing a great lot of research and find that the biases on Wiki in some areas are not apparent. The Women in Red project, effectively identifies and addresses, at least to some extent and I have decided to participate in it to contribute my own bit, even if it is minimal. But despite India being a huge country just like many other smaller Asian and African countries, there is a huge bias among sportsperson BLPs when compared to European sportsperson BLPs. Efforts to reduce this gap have neither been regular or consistent. And frequently I find deletionists, different arguments and those pages who do not have "God Fathers" who are familiar with wiki policies, succumb to the way policies are interpreted. I am not doubting your nomination, I will check your point about GNG and also check if any recent refs are available and will follow the process. Maybe it is WP:TSTD, as she passes football notability. thanks for letting me know, happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 05:19, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

Football articles
[edit]Hi, Davidindia, excellent work on the creation of articles on a variety of topics, especially in the context of sports, politics, women's pages etc. Just wanted to add that football pages have certain notability guidelines for players, clubs etc, which is used to check their notability at various intervals (being a huge popular sport). These might come in handy while curating or drafting articles. Hence it might be a good idea to regularly update or add citations from various sources (organisations, news, archives) to their pages from time to time. Regards. Lancepark (talk) 11:57, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot Lancepark for the good words! Much appreciated! I really admire your work and the way you go back and update stats after every match. I’m learning from that and hope to spend more time updating older articles rather than just creating new ones. However, I’ve noticed there’s still a huge gap in sports coverage, especially when compared to players from European countries.
- I also felt that the Malati Munda BLP met all four points of FootyN, but a very senior editor/admin flagged it. So I searched for and added about a dozen more references. I hope it passes now. Otherwise, I’ve requested that it be draftified.
- I’ll take your advice and start revisiting my earlier articles. Thanks again, and happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 12:32, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sure mate Davidindia, doing what I can to improve the historical and real time data in Indian sports and archive their coverage. I agree there's a lot of gaps in the coverage of Indian sports, so maybe those are interested or dedicated in this field can help and chip in with their contributions regularly. I hope the notability of the articles you have created pass with no issues, but even if there are problems, you can maybe revert it back to draftspace and restore it when there's enough coverage (This is too dynamic, so depends on the editors). Thanks and happy editing. Lancepark (talk) 13:34, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia Notability Criteria for Mobile Application
[edit]Hi User:Davidindia, I’m researching app pages for Wikipedia and wanted your advice.
What criteria make an app notable enough for an English Wikipedia article?
- Should it have received at least two awards, undergone lab testing, or collaborated with a government or well-known organization?
- How many independent references are generally required to establish notability?
- Does it matter if the sources are government-based, media-based, or from other organizations?
I’d really appreciate your guidance on this. Bech07 (talk) 10:30, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
