Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)[edit]

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:13, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Gibraltarpedia[edit]

Hola David. I've noticed you added yourself to the contributors section on the Gibraltarpedia project page and was wondering how you plan to contribute? Look forward to working with you. --Gibmetal 77talk 2 me 21:44, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

That's great. Please remember to report back any translations at the project's New Articles page. Moltes gràcies! --Gibmetal 77talk 2 me 22:04, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
Catalan Bay already exists in Català but it's short. You could add to it by translating sections from the English version. You could work on Capture of Gibraltar next. The Anglo-Dutch forces were supported by a number of Catalan volunteers so I think this would make a good start for you :). Thanks, --Gibmetal 77talk 2 me 14:47, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Actually, I've just noticed that Capture of Gibraltar has a Catalan translation, but it needs work... --Gibmetal 77talk 2 me 14:51, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
David, I'm trying to get funding to meet you next Sunday ... I presume you are going? Victuallers (talk) 17:37, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

2012 Catalan independence demonstration[edit]

You seem very interested in the article. Currently there is consensus to post it on the main page, however the only thing holding it from getting posted is the lack of references. So if you and the rest of editors can fix that, then it will be posted in no time. Mohamed CJ (talk) 05:06, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

I suggest you try providing references for the quotes and unreferenced sections Spencer mentioned on the ITN nomination page. Once that is done, bring it to User:Spencer's attention and the item will likely be posted. μηδείς (talk) 18:25, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Well done on the references. I note some red links have found their way back into the article. Maybe you should delink them or otherwise fix them before someone complains again. μηδείς (talk) 19:41, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Notification of discussion[edit]

As a member of the Gibraltarpedia project, you may be aware that there was a discussion a few months ago on Wikipedia talk:Did you know about Gibraltar-related DYKs on the Main Page. I am proposing that the temporary restrictions on such DYKs, which were imposed in September 2012, should be lifted and have set out a case for doing so at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Gibraltar-related DYKs. If you have a view on this, please comment at that page. Prioryman (talk) 22:18, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

We noticed though that when you edited Josep Pla, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Catalan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I have created Template:Catalonia topics, like Template:France topics or Template:Scotland topics. I think you could help me in this request, where I have asked to be added to templates of Europe. In addition, maybe you could help creating the missing articles in the template of Catalan topics, such as Art in Catalonia or Architecture in Catalonia. Wikilinking[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This even applies for infoboxes.

Thanks and my best wishes.

MEP addresses[edit]

You should be able to find MEP postal addresses on their official European Parliament webpage

-- eg for London's Mary Honeyball this page.

The postal address is at the bottom right of the page. I think they are all the same apart from the number of the MEP's office, eg "13G258" for Honeyball; but I suppose it's possible that some may be in a different building.

All best, Jheald (talk) 14:25, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Opinion polling for the Catalonian parliamentary election, 2015[edit]

Hola Davidpar,

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Catalan Culture Challenge 2016 edition[edit]

I apologize if this message is not in your language. Please help translate it.

From February 21 to March 6 we organise the 2nd edition of Catalan Culture Challenge, a Wikipedia editing contest in which victory will go to those who start or improve the greatest number of articles about 11 key figures of Catalan culture. You can take part by creating or expanding articles on these people in your native language (or any other one you speak). It would be lovely to have you on board again. :-)

We look forward to seeing you!

Wikimedian in Residence BoF at Wikimania 2017[edit]

Hello!

My name is David Alves (User:Horadrim~usurped), and I'm an Wikipedian in Residence at RIDC NeuroMat (User:Horadrim). I've reach your contact through the Wikimedian in residence page in Outreach. As you may know, Wikimania 2017 is coming! I am here because, as a fellow WiR, I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss difficulties and exchange solutions, creating a community among us capable of supporting in other projects that would benefit from residents. In that sense, I have submitted a proposal of a Birds of a Feather activity to Wikimania that you can check out here. I hope to count with your support in this project and would like to invite you to join us if you participate in Wikimania. In case of any doubts, please feel free to contact me, either in my talk pages or by e-mail at david.alves(at)outlook.com.

Thank you very much! ‎Horadrim~usurped (talk) 00:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
