Arushi Talwar Speedy deletetion

According to :-

"Presumed" means that substantive coverage in multiple independent reliable sources establishes a presumption, not a guarantee, of notability. Editors may reach a consensus that although a topic meets this criterion, it is not suitable for inclusion. For example, it may violate what Wikipedia is not.Anmol.2k4 (talk) 09:36, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

What you get is around 1,323 news stories on this subject, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati (And one of the biggest Political leader of India) have doe a press conference on the Arushi Talwar Murder case. Seniors most police officers handling this case have been demoted.

Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Choudhry have announced that ministry will file defamatory case against the Noida police.

There is already an ongoing debate over Media trial / Media Harassment seen in this case.

India's premier investigating agency CBI have taken over the case.

Please explain sir why is that Arushi Talwar not notable enough ? Anmol.2k4 (talk) 09:36, 3 June 2008 (UTC) change

How-To query

Hi Disco. Hope you're not getting too much of the mopsy-mayhems since getting the janitor hat :) So then - there I was, looking at Birmingham-Southern College (for some reason) and noticed that none of the rankings and ratings etc claimed for the place have any citations or links. I've put a note re. on the Talk Page and threatened to add one of those box-things to the article which says it needs its facts cited. Please would you direct me to where I can find out how to get this done? To be frank, I'm not usually bothered enough about this kind of thing to get involved (unless its an subject I happen to know about or have a connection to) but this is a college and such claims may well be read by impressionable prospective alumni. Furthermore, its rather telling that no-one at the place seems to have either noticed or bothered... Anyway, thanks! Plutonium27 (talk) 03:42, 23 June 2008 (UTC) Yep, those are just the pages I wanted, thanks for the links. I think I should give it a few days, for the talkpage msg to get seen and acted on - I guess thats the etiquette? Looking through US college/uni articles, I'd noticed before that these annual rankings by media/business/ed groups etc are nearly always included and so matter quite considerably to the insitutions themselves, and to prospective students (and those that pay for them). I'd expect the resultant public image to be part of the influences for endowments and grants in some way too. So if they're gonna flaunt 'em, they can bloody well back them up and all! Buttock augmentation

Would it be appropriate to place a temporary block on Buttock augmentation and Medical tourism to break the cycle of link spamming? I'm not sure the user is seeing the warnings posted on the various IP talk pages he's using or looking at any of the edit summary comments, but I don't know if blocking anonymous edits would help encourage the user to register and read. Thanks. Flowanda | Talk 19:30, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Spinster,

I have read your reason for deleting intrepidity and I have read the guideline you cited, however I do not see how it is relevant. Intrepidity is neither an implausible typo, link, nor misnomer. It is a real word that is commonly used in the English language. If you type the word into the search bar, you will find plenty of articles which use the word in context. The fact that links to the article are referring to a horse simply means that those links should be switched to link to Intrepidity (horse). Someone typing "intrepidity" into the search bar should be able to find an article on the subject, and that article is the courage article. This really is a valid redirect. Would you consent to recreating it?

Bangladesh (district)

Actually, the district's proper name is 'Malatia Sebastia' (a Google search will verify this) [2]. 'Bangladesh' seems to be a colloquial term for the district, to describe the poverty in the city (French Wikipedia verifies this - [3]). Maybe the article should be renamed 'Malatia Sebastia'.

Move of Someone to Watch over Me (film)

You said that the move of this page was "incorrect". Actually, you're incorrect. You may not know it,but "over" is a preposition. WP:NC says to not capitalize prepositions, conjunctions, and articles. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 21:34, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

I knew you didn't come up with it. Even if the 2 refs show it with the "o" capitalized,Wikipedia's capitalization rules are more important. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 22:25, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

{{Central Bank}}

You sped this as an "R3: Recent redirect from implausible typo, link, or misnomer": I'm curious if you were aware that this had recently been moved from that "implausible" name, then orphaned and db'd, all by the same editor. I must admit I'm struggling to see the net benefit. Alai (talk) 13:53, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Consistency of what, exactly? The only upside is one redirect fewer. I'd personally rather see fewer of the article-space 'redirects capitalisations that are unhelpful for search, and downright incorrect if used as links', if you're taking requests. The downside is the 'unexpected result' when someone tries to use the "old" name -- which given that it is the old name, seems far from implausible, and not exactly a typo. Alai (talk) 14:09, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
You say 'simply', but that's precisely what I'd regard as a wholly disproportionate inconvenience to impose for the little-to-no benefit gained. You also appear to have answered my question specifically about redirects that aren't useful for search with an observation about redirects that are useful for search
I'm none the wiser. However, at least we've established you knew what you were doing (and what Sardanaphalus was up to), which was my original objective. Alai (talk) 14:29, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you much! Ctjf83Talk 02:47, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Like it or not your wrong A Key of Hobos is an existing Simpsons episode, so I may have to re-add it later.

Do NOT disrupt Wikipedia by vandalizing pages!! You are also sock puppeting which is against Wikipedia rules! Ctjf83Talk 02:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
To whom are you referring??? ... discospinster talk 02:57, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Not you of course, user:FurbyTeamster who posted this "Attention" section and is apparently a puppet of user:Thatwasalittlestrange Ctjf83Talk 03:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh really?

Yes they're is but I won't add it, because I will get banned, wow, you should not have admin powers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by FurbyTeamster (talkcontribs) 02:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Escape from the Island of Aquarius

Hello, there. I'm thinking about joining the RC patrol so I've been checking out the RC page and I came across this article. Now I know that there are speedy deletion templates, but I'm not sure which one might be appropriate for this page I came across. Much appreciated, Cliff smith (talk) 03:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

top 14

hmm, you allow a clearly false line about rugby league players onto the article but then edit mine out. Hell, my addition was more accurate than the one you allowed. I know wikipedia is not exactly world renowned for its accuracy, but can we have some fairness here?

re: Top 14

"Very few French players participate in the sport, with the majority of teams taken up by ex-Australian and New Zealand Rugby League and Australian Rugby Union players."

This one. False as in well above half the players are French, and there are now 2 ex-rugby league players in the Top 14.

Do you even know anything about rugby?

"Lion King" article

This article seems to undergo frequent vandalism. I suggest making it semi-protected while we work to make it a featured article. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DrNegative (talkcontribs)

Make Me a Supermodel (US)

Can you please help the article link of Make Me a Supermodel (US) (previous article) → Make Me a Supermodel (U.S. TV series) (current article) which it uses Naming conventions (television). I moved the current article from the previous article which is now redirect to the current article without the merge history along with talk page. Can you please cut and paste to current article plus its article's talk page with merge history. Since Oxymoron83 was not logged in at that time of the message and he was busy. Thanks. --ApprenticeFan (talk) 12:03, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Signature help

I couldn't help but notice how good your signature looked on my Talk Page. I've tried to do a more colourful one for myself, but it just doesn't seem to work.

I'd really like to have the 'The' part of my username in blue and have that redirect to my User Page when clicked, and I'd like to have the 'Suave' part in brown and have that redirect to my Talk Page.

If you could help me, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks, TheSuave (talk) 14:23, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you!

Who made you God?

Ok, I won't personally attack you. I just want to know why you think you are the Wiki police. I thought this site belonged to everybody?

User:LOGANA appears to be involved in disruptive editing.

This edit makes it evident that LOGANA is just a sock of66.65.85.138.

Can you please help out? Thanks, ~ Troy (talk) 02:38, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Your Vandalism Are My Facts

Have fun, if it makes you feel better editing other peoples thoughts and facts. Go for it. It obviously means a lot to you so have fun. God bless because you have an awesome responsibility, you get to decide what others read. There is a Wikipedia page for the words asshole, fuck, cunt and motherfucker. I find those offensive, can I just delete those? Please remember it's a slippery slope when one person decides what the world should see. I'm out, this is the last you will hear from me.
