re: warning to User talk:38.100.105.133

Greetings Dmadeo!

I noted that you recently left a level 2 warning at this IPs talk page.

This IP is a chronic vandal, and unfortunately, there has been some difficulty in blocking the IP because editors have not been giving graduated warnings that allow for blocks (I'm not sure if you have seen the IP's talk page, but this is obvious). Since the warning given prior to yours was already a level 2, could you consider changing your warning to a level 3? Thanks for your hard work! LonelyBeacon (talk) 00:36, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Redaktor Wikipedia 600px.png

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 03:02, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Nice to see you at NYU Wikiconference

Thank you for coming up and introducing yourself on Saturday. Alas, I can't remember what was making me busy at the moment; probably figuring some aspect of hustling up lunch or something for the crowd. I did get a chance later to discuss geotagging for a productive hour with a bridge fan and sometime Wikiphotographer from Philadelphia. Someday we should organize a picture panel or similar attention getter at one of these annual Wikiconferences. Jim.henderson (talk) 12:15, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Sacks spiral for deletion

Ambox warning pn.svg

A discussion has begun about whether the article Sacks spiral, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sacks spiral until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. The main issue is that the article appears to contain original research. Will Orrick (talk) 16:38, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

NYC Meetup: Saturday, December 4

We meet outside by the trees at 5:00 PM.

Our next Wikipedia NYC Meetup is this weekend on Saturday Dec 4 at Brooklyn Museum during their awesome First Saturdays program, starting at 5 PM.

A particular highlight for the wiki crowd will be 'Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists, 1958–1968', and the accompanying "WikiPop" project, with specially-created Wikipedia articles on the artists displayed on iPads in the gallery.

This will be a museum touring and partying meetup, so no excuses about being a shy newbie this time. Bring a friend too!

I see that you contributed a picture of Petra Cetkovská. A friend of mine took a few picture at the recent New Haven Open, and I think a couple might be better choices for the info box. I know we are supposed to be Bold, but I don't like swapping out a picture without at least talking tot he editor of the first picture. I haven't uploaded and made arrangement for licensing yet, but wanted to give you a heads up.--SPhilbrickT 12:05, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Walter-kidde-dinosaur-park.png

A tag has been placed on File:Walter-kidde-dinosaur-park.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cypress Gardens (South Carolina), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cooper River (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Austin, Nichols and Company Warehouse may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "()"s and 2 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

File permission problem with File:Oak Beach Inn.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Oak Beach Inn.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. TLSuda (talk) 15:44, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Announcing: NRHP Fall Photo Contest!

The WP:NRHP Fall 2014 Photo Contest will kick off at midnight eastern time on Monday September 1! This is an opportunity for all folks with a camera (or a sketchpad and scanner, doncha know) and an interest in the National Register of Historic Places to just have some low-key fun and maybe get some barnstars. Come submit some photos or pose a challenge to your fellow editors. And maybe, just maybe, along the line we'll improve the encyclopedia... (Note that while this contest is intentionally concurrent with Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 and the Wikipedia Summer of Monuments, there ain't gonna be no cash prizes or press releases here. But compete in 'em all if you like - we won't be jealous.) — Ipoellet (talk) 22:55, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
