Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 15:58, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blair Witch edits[edit]

Thanks for inquiring. Normally, that would be a good citation, but not in this case, because you are comparing two things to draw a conclusion that they are connected. The policy that covers this is a facet of the original research policy called synthesis. What you need is a citation from a reliable source comparing the two. That there isn't something like that easily found is one of the more frustrating parts of Wikipedia - if you cannot cite it, you cannot include it. I hope that answers your question. If I can help you with another question while you are learning, just create a new section on my User Talk page and ask. :) - Arcayne (cast a spell) 19:54, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on those cites. They are a good example of research. Congrats. :) - Arcayne (cast a spell) 20:57, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Signing your name is a pretty easy thing, once you become familiar with the lingo. If you look at your keyboard, you'll notice on the upper left, right above the TAB key is the wavy symbol that is called the tilde. Hold down SHIFT and type four ~ in a row. Now hit the button in this screen that says Show preview. You will see how those four tildes are interpreted by the wiki software as a signature, identifying yourself at the end of your edits (which is where you should be putting your sig, and not at the top). If you cannot be bothered with the typing, look a bit further down in this edit window, below the three buttons and the text that says: "Do not copy text from other websites without a GFDL-compatible license. It will be deleted." You will see text that says, "Sign your username" followed by a hyperlinked four tildes. You can also click that to quickly input your signature before hitting return.
I am also going to add on your user page a template of user shortcuts. You can remove it, of course, but I think you might find it useful for a while - lots of nifty tools there. Please feel free to drop me a line when you run into difficulties or just have a question, Dnd. :) - Arcayne (cast a spell) 11:38, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
