@EarthDude I am extremely sorry,I was thus fixing the broken link and quotation of the sentence which is recently added by an user in James Mill article and these same statement are also added in The History of British India and Anti-Indian sentimentI wasn't aware that the reference are unsourced Myuoh kaka roi (talk) 05:44, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
- Aside from the source issue, that specific content seems too minor and WP:UNDUE for inclusion in these articles. Something along the lines of it has already been given in the articles elsewhere, so the statement should be removed. It is quite redundant. — EarthDude (Talk) 08:33, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Agreed with your statement but the information has been readded by another user who also did it in The History of British India article Myuoh kaka roi (talk) 11:21, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- I have reverted their edits. Per WP:ONUS, once content is disputed, the burden to gain consensus falls on the editor who seeks to include such disputed content. — EarthDude (Talk) 20:20, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
- good now there has been a discussion on this content in Talk:James Mill by the user who added it you can share your opinion on it Myuoh kaka roi (talk) 14:20, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Your edits got reverted again by the same user Myuoh kaka roi (talk) 04:18, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
- I have reverted them and there is currently an ongoing discussion regarding this at Talk:The History of British India#Refutation of Mill's claims, in which you are free to participate. — EarthDude (Talk) 10:16, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

About the zee news Rfc
[edit]hey dude can we depreciate already i think theres a clear case being made so like whats the next step Stanjik (talk) 16:11, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- also like this is unrelated but im asking u this cuz you seem like an experienced wikipedian
- I followed the dhurandhar 2 thing for a bit after a while they just voted like whats the deal with that when Rfc takes place they say its about merit Stanjik (talk) 16:19, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Regarding the Zee News RfC, I personally cannot close it, since I was the one who opened it. An uninvolved editor will close it after the usual 30 day timeframe. As for the Dhurandhar 2 dispute, RfCs are based on editor arguments and not votes, though many editors do confuse this. Anyhow, basic votes are not taken into consideration when an RfC is closed and RfCs can also have the minority position be deemed the consensus, if the arguments given by those editors is strong enough. — EarthDude (Talk) 20:55, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah no i get that like at the end it was like 21 to 31 votes in favor something at the end
- Also thanks for creating rfc on zee news it should have been depreciated years ago why did we take this long anyone with a brain knows that thing is pretty much anti wiki Stanjik (talk) 09:05, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- The reason for there having been no prior such discussion on Zee News is because of Wikipedia's systemic bias. The issue is that most Wikipedia editors are from North America and Europe, and editors mostly only edit topics they are familiar with. Only a minority of Wikipedia editors are from India and, as such, most editors may have genuinely never heard of Zee News before. If you look at other sources for which the community has developed a consensus at WP:RSPS, you'd see that most sources are from the West. The issue is deeper than just sourcing; there is a greater quantity and quality of Western content relative to content from the global south, including India. Editors and content related to women too are underrepresented. One of my goals as an editor is to tackle this systemic bias. — EarthDude (Talk) 09:42, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- yeah i see that now i was just suprised because this is like a really well know news outlet and its pretty blatant yk its not at all hidden its a garbage source hope we weed out more garbage soon in wiki Stanjik (talk) 09:57, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

- . Ultimately, with 19 "Yes" or "Support" votes and 31 "No" or "Oppose" votes, this is what i meant like what was the voting about (dhurandhar 2) Stanjik (talk) 09:07, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Do you mean to ask what an RfC is, and how that whole process worked out in the Dhurandhar 2 article> — EarthDude (Talk) 09:22, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- no no i mean i get how RfC works i know it works on merit but in the end they went with majority votes in the end Stanjik (talk) 09:24, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

Have a look
[edit]Hi, it is regarding this portal. I've come across a few articles using it as a source. Do we have consensus regarding its usage ay WP:RSN? Skimming through, I find it to be 'less reliable'. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:52, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Looking through discussions at WP:RSN, I don't see any solid consensus, largely because government sites from different countries differ so much. However, I wouldn't rely on government sites in general because they don't have any fact-checking or editorial oversight while having an incentive to promote their own actions and ruling ideologies. Indian government websites specifically, especially in recent years, have become pretty overtly supportive of the ruling party and their beliefs, but this is also the case with many other countries such as the United States. — EarthDude (Talk) 07:49, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

May backlog drive
An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.
PageTriage
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.
