Vulcan Ventures[edit]

Ed, Thanks for your email regarding Vulcan Ventures and I do support the work related to XH558. I proposed deletion because it was self-promotional but it also failed notability. I assume good faith and as you said it is not a project for personal gain but if you read our guidelines on conflict of interest you should note that you should not really write an article promoting a product or company in which you have a connection, although they are exceptions. You also note that Wikipedia has articles on other childrens books but I cant see this being in the same league as Harry Potter etc. that meet our guidelines on notability particularly by having many secondary sources for the information. I would suggest that it may be best to add the info to the Vulcan To The Sky Trust article but it would need reliable sources that are not connected with the VST or Vulcan Ventures like a newspaper review. This would protect you against conflict of interest, you can always declare your connection on the article talk page, this would allow editors to assess what you have added and the secondary references you have provided. You also need to be aware that the images you have provided for the article need to be released for anybody to use, this could also include commercial use by others, so just be carefull what you use unless you dont mind anybody using it. Because you contested the proposed deletion I have nominated it for deletion. This gives you an opportunity to state why you think the article should stay, and allows other editors to review and comment. MilborneOne (talk) 18:19, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
