Disambiguation link notification for January 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 World Junior Championships in Athletics – Men's 110 metres hurdles, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Francisco López and Ricardo Torres. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Weightlifting 2018 Commonwealth Games[edit]

Hi, if you do not mind, can you please format the results tables like this [1]. Thanks! Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 20:58, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There are some features in that table worth adding (bodyweight and making the table sortable). I'm leaving the three attempts in as I feel they give you some idea of how the competition progressed. Edvid (talk) 21:31, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect thanks! I also thought putting the nations would be useful. What do you think? Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 23:35, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The national flags are included in the athlete columns and you can get their full names just by hovering over the three-letter shorthands, so I don't see the need for separate nation columns. Edvid (talk) 23:44, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also its unnecessary for the sport template to be linked on each page. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 00:05, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Is it really? Personally I find them useful on individual event pages as I tend to traverse between sports (within the same Games) quite often. Edvid (talk) 00:11, 4 April 2018 (UTC); edited 00:12, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. On a related note, what's the rationale behind this edit? Why are individual match templates needed for this tournament? They aren't used on other international (qualification) tournaments. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:54, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There are individual match templates on the 2018 CWG pages for hockey (men & women), netball, and rugby sevens (men & women). Made sense to me because varied selections of those templates can be added to the nations' 2022 CWG pages. If there's a more efficient method of achieving the same result, I'm all ears. 2022 Commonwealth Games[edit]

I had an idea. Instead of creating individual stand alone articles for each event, perhaps we can have one article (titled results) for each sport. We can direct all the links there as well. What are your thoughts on this? Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 01:27, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I'm not too keen on the idea. For team sports the individual tournament articles are already big on their own, and the bigger individual sports (like athletics and swimming) generally have big separate results pages for the popular events. For individual sports like judo (with their relatively small fields) a single results page might work unless there are templates for particular weight classes, as is the case with boxing.
With all that considered I'd stick with making individual results pages for each event. Edvid (talk) 10:48, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I agree that some (probably most?) need an individual article. Didn't want to start anything till I got a second opinion. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 14:12, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
