Page Blanking[edit]

On 5-May, you blanked Gary Hinman. Blanking pages is generally considered a bad idea. I've reverted it to the previous version. If this was the result of a broken edit, you may wish to make the correct edits. If you believe the redirect should be deleted, please follow the redirect portion of the deletion procedures. If you believe an article should be written instead of the redirect, please write a stub. If you have questions, please let me know. Thanks! -- JLaTondre 01:53, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Blanking a page is not the same as deleting. If you think this redirect is invalid, then nominate for deletion per the directions I provided. While Gary Hinman is not the same person as Charles Manson, Gary Hinman is discussed at the Charles Manson page. Redirects are not used simply when two items are the same. They are also used when a topic does not have it's own article, but is discussed in another article. Gary Hinman fits that model. -- JLaTondre 13:16, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you...[edit]

For the invitation to Houston; I do not plan a visit there just now, but "never say never". - Similarly, if you will visit Prague, let me know in advance, if you wish; we can visit some nice places here. Happy editing! --Ioannes Pragensis 15:00, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Please stop creating articles using content cut and pasted from copyrighted websites[edit]

As it says near the bottom of every editing window, "Content that violates any copyright will be deleted." and "Do not copy text from other websites without a GFDL-compatible license.". The Handbook of Texas Online website clearly has a copyright notice on every page. Sohelpme 22:37, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Bayou pages[edit]

Please stop copying sections of Texas on Line into the wikipedia. This is copyrighted material, and cannot be allowed to remain in our encyclopedia without permission from the copyright holder.--Anthony.bradbury 22:51, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ambassador Program in Houston[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian from Houston. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors from the Houston area, to help with Wikipedia assignments at Texas Southern University. Classes at TSU will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester, and the role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone in Houston who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:11, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
