Thank you, I didn't think that somebody would look at a note and edit it, and I'm gonna test if signs work nowEmemas07 (talk) 18:22, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! I happen to be one of the editors who is watching that page, so for other pages/more obscure topics your mileage may vary. If you even have a question and no one is responding, you can either ask at the Wikipedia:Help desk or put the template {{help me}} (with the brackets) next to your question! What do you mean by signs? Alyo (chat·edits) 18:31, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I meant that I wanted to know if it was as simple to type the 4 ~ to sign or I had to do anything else, like I wanted to say that I wanted to see if signing worked , that's what I meant Ememas07 (talk) 18:33, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ememas07, Ahh gotcha. Yup, you've got it. Just let me know if I can help you with anything else :) Alyo (chat·edits) 18:40, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quick note, in the CSGO page, there is a typo, it says (I don't remember exactly) The gun race gamemode is like the gun game mod, there is a missing E there Ememas07 (talk) 18:39, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ememas07, I wonder if that was originally written that way to reference the fact that in the CS context, gun game was just a mod people ran on their servers, but now that it's an official game mode you're probably right. Alyo (chat·edits) 18:42, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, thank you for quoting (Is that how you say when you do a text which when you click on it redirects?) watching, I was about to ask you that Ememas07 (talk) 18:44, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ememas07, do you mean linking? Yup, you can put two square brackets on either side of a word, so [[Valve Corporation]] links to Valve Corporation. You can also use the "|" character to change how the link reads, so [[Valve Corporation|example text]] would still link to Valve: example text. Alyo (chat·edits) 18:52, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing alyo, do editors spend their time just looking at their watchlist and waiting to correct things, revert vandalism and all of that stuff? or do you do watch youtube with that open just in case something happens? Ememas07 (talk) 18:49, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Haha that's a great question, and it really depends on what you like to do. The articles I've watchlisted are topics I'm interested in, and when I have the time (or when something happens in the real world that should be added to the page) I'll find sources and add them to the page. Some editors do just watch the Special:RecentChanges page and revert vandalism, but I don't really have the time to dedicate to that anymore (plus bots do lots of the work). There are so many articles out there that need to be expanded that I think a good way to approach editing as a newbie is to find a niche that you're interested in and try to build up a couple articles. The more you edit, the more you'll understand the rules and policies and discover new/other areas you're also interested in. Alyo (chat·edits) 18:56, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
