Micky & the Motorcars[edit]

Hey there. I saw you added some references from Billboard.com for Micky & the Motorcars's album Naive's chart positions. It says they peaked in 2013. Are those dates accurate, or are they something to do with the last time the site was reorganized? Thanks. —Torchiest talkedits 13:45, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

It has to do with the site's last redesign. If you click on the date, the date at the top of the chart page is August 16, 2008. Eric444 (talk) 14:17, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Country discography[edit]

Hi, I've been thinking...would it make more sense to make the Country Airplay chart the original chart instead of US country on artists' singles chart? That way when you are looking down the list comparing singles, it makes more sense, since all the chart peaks prior to 2012 were determined using the same method as the current country airplay chart. For example, on Brad paisley discography, looking at the single Camouflage, users would see that it peaked at 15...next looking at Southern Comfort Zone, technically it would have peaked at 2 using the same determination, but it looks like it instead peaked at 10. Just wanted your opinion. Abontorab99 (talk) 13:34, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Red (Taylor Swift song)[edit]

Hi, Eric. Another user posted on talk page and changed a bit (country or country pop). So I asked Sofffie7 and Littlecarmen to change it better but they can't do it. Honestly I found another reliable source American Songwriter ("The title track—which splits the difference between big country-pop and propulsive, anthemic dance music").

Should be change as "a country pop song with pop rock and country arrangements" with each sources on section. 183.171.172.255 (talk) 15:49, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:SouthernStyle.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:SouthernStyle.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information.svg Hi, Eric444. To upload cover artworks, its recommended size is 300x300px (if it is a square) and the format is preferably in PNG, and the file size should be lesser than 150KB. As for more information, read WP:F and WP:NFCC. It is no surprise if editors replace your cover artworks that you have uploaded with PNG ones. In the future, please upload files like this, and you can choose to replace all of your previous uploads with PNG. After doing so, put {{orphaned fair use}} at the JPEG file. Reverted Edits[edit]

@Eric444: I recently edited the pages Love Story and White Horse (both songs written and sung TaYlor Swift) by adding lyrics. When I checked today, the edits were not there, since you had reverted them. To keep me from having more edits reverted, may you please tell me what I did wrong and how I can fix it so that information is on the page?? Thanks.(PythonessofDelphi🐍 (talk) 14:00, 3 April 2015 (UTC))

@Pythonessofdelphi: There is a rule regarding the addition of lyrics on album or song pages. This rule is in place mainly because of copyright regulations. Quotes of songs are however allowed in the article to demonstrate song style, wording, etc. You may also embed a link to the full lyrics if you have proof that that website has permission to share those lyrics. Speedy deletion nomination of Agasea Records[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Agasea Records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Brantley Gilbert "new" single?[edit]

According to this article by Saving Country Music, on April 28th, Brantley Gilbert released a new single called "Same Old Song" from the platinum version of Just As I Am, although the song didn't recieve much press. You think we should make a page for it/add it to the Brantley Gilbert discography page or not? --Jack Gaines (talk) 22:56, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Eric, I've found a number of (mostly negative) reviews about the song. Other than Saving Country Music, here's another one. And apparently, it was released as a single on Spotify and Rhapsody. Also, I think hasn't charted just yet, like what happened with Ready Set Roll (initially flopped, and re-entered the chart several months after its release). Proposed deletion of Just Like You (Crystal Shawanda album)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Just Like You (Crystal Shawanda album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Just Like You (Crystal Shawanda album)news, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability. Please see the plain-language summary of our notability guidelines.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 21:09, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

On the page for Leave the Night On, I put "Country" in the genre section, with an AllMusic source which had stated it was such. Yet User:Tomica claims AllMusic isn't a reliable source and has removed the genres. He has also removed a similar AllMusic citation from Take Your Time. Perhaps you would like to chime in? --Jack Gaines (talk) 23:38, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

And I told you why I did remove it. AllMusic is extremely reliable source for everything, however, specifically for the genre, it could be only used if it's mentioned in the text (the actual review of the editor), not at the side column. Reason? Because most of the times they put randomly the main genre for the artist in it, but not the actual genre of the song. And the "Take Your Time" citation didn't make sense at all because country-pop was never specifically mentioned as a genre of the song. Honestly, IMO you should get familiar with this topic before accusing me of how "I removed X/Y". — Tom(T2ME) 23:43, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
I remember Eric444 already said many times that AllMusic is indeed a reliable source. For example, take Bait a Hook and When She Says Baby. --Jack Gaines (talk) 23:44, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
I told you, it is reliable source, but the genres from the side column shouldn't be used because they are most of the times the main genres of the artist, not the actual genre of the album/single. I see you guys edit country-related articles, I edit mainly pop and R&B (I am interested in Hunt's work because he is really nice at mixing them) and I can say that's how we do overthere. — Tom(T2ME) 23:48, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Bubbling Under peaks[edit]

I've come to understand that you edit a lot of country artists' discographies and if their newest single or song charts on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, you add together 100 + whatever the position the song is on there is. This is incorrect, as songs that drop out of the Hot 100 do not reappear on the Bubbling chart, so songs fall between these two charts. It is not a simple extension chart, so #1 on the Bubbling chart would most of the time not actually correspond to #101, as a song that was in the Hot 100 the previous week (and therefore cannot fall back through the Bubbling chart) would probably technically be #101. It was even clarified earlier this year at WP:AN/I under the discussion over the (now blocked, for other reasons) user Funkatastic, who insisted it was correct to add the two numbers together and was corrected by several administrators and users. Can you maybe please start adding a note (located in the US column next to a dash) for a peak on the Bubbling chart using Template:Efn (or other similar layout), as is standard on many other discographies? Thanks. Ss112 00:21, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

I understand who Joel Whitburn is and that his books contain said additions of Bubbling peaks to be 100, but he doesn't work for Billboard, an expert and in partnership with them he may be. I'm also aware that Billboard used to actually publish the Bubbling Under peak as #1xx, but they ceased doing this in the 1980s and outside of a book by an associate, I can't find that they still believe this in their modern incarnation. As for those various discographies that contain an addition of the Bubbling Under to the Hot 100, I have visited all of those before and don't really consider that when they became featured there was an understanding or even care about the addition of the Bubbling peaks to 100. Plenty of users don't seem to care about it or by simply reading "extension chart" assume it immediately goes after the main chart's threshold. You're right, there isn't consensus, but there have been discussions like the one I mentioned above. It may be that it's something others don't care about enough to establish consensus on. Ss112 23:05, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
Also, I know you have been editing in line with what I suggested, but I recall you saying on my talk page that there has been no consensus reached on how to show Bubbling Under peaks; surely what is written under WP:USCHARTS, a content guideline "editors should attempt to follow" represents consensus? Updating charts before they've refreshed[edit]

In future, can you not update charts (whether it's country or not) ahead of time? You added new Country Songs, Airplay and Albums peaks before the URLs you're citing had even updated (for instance, Luke Bryan's chart history still doesn't show "Huntin' Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day" as having reached number 1). The only chart data I saw that had updated this afternoon was the Hot 100. So whether it was only with two or so hours to go, you still did it ahead of time, and forgive my saying so, but I think you should know better as an experienced editor and not update information until the sources you're citing have updated. Ss112 09:38, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

Unless, of course, Billboard selectively chose to update the country charts directly at the dated URLs instead of at chart history pages? Ss112 09:52, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
