Hello, Esquin, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

October 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Environmentalism may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Westland] – A Canadian television series (1984-2007 on a broad range of environmental issues, from the UBC Library Digital Collections

Removed pics on Stanley Park page[edit]

Hi, I took out the pics you dropped into the SP page because they appeared to be fairly loosely tied to the content. The SP page is up for Good Article status (review started in Oct) and the guidelines specify that pictures illustrate what is said in the written content. Because you didn't specify anything about that totem by otter pond in the written content, it just didn't work. (There might be a point in the future when someone adds that story, so it's still good to have it in the Wiki Commons database.) If you want to add the pics to other pages, there are a ton of related pages, like Burrard Inlet and Xwayxway, that are not up for Good Article status and could probably use a few more pics. Image placement[edit]

Multiple images in the same article can be staggered right-and-left. However, avoid sandwiching text between two images that face each other, or between an image and infobox, navigation template, or similar. If multiple related images are being placed on the right, then the {{multiple image}} template may be useful.

Avoid placing images on the left at the start of any section or subsection, because it makes it harder for readers to find the beginning of the text. Images on the left are best placed somewhere after the first paragraph. -- Moxy (talk) 22:25, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
