I do have contact with Ike. I also know the team fairly well, but Catherine Howard has been looking for a new coach so that the team can go to more tournaments. Also, from what I can tell the school system here is in pretty bad shape, therefore SMFHS may not be able to go. Mr. Jose often goes with other teams (such as Solon or Garfield Heights), so I will let him no about your offer. Thank you for contacting me. Chastayo (talk) 16:14, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ed Rendell[edit]

In the future, please note that info like what you added to Ed Rendell, does not deserve its own section, but rather be simply placed in his Governor section. Although I am a supporter, I feel like his article is far too supportive of him. You kind of indicated you knew about a few criticisms he received, and I would invite you to add anything deserving of a mention to the article, as long as it does not violate WP:NPOV. - Thanks Rockyobody (talk) 23:13, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

November 2010[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Template:Derek Walcott a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Template:Derek Walcott Plays. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. --Bsherr (talk) 21:00, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Rhiju Das headshot 2012.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rhiju Das headshot 2012.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Animalparty! (talk) 00:57, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a professional or personal connection to Rhiju Das (biochemist), please read WP:Conflict of interest completely, and strive to comply with neutral point of view, and non-promo. You also must demonstrate the Das satisfies notability requirements: not every professor merits a Wikipedia article (and far too many articles, even of notable academics, too closely resemble CVs or faculty bio pages, e.g. using Wikipedia for free publicity). --Animalparty! (talk) 19:49, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fair points all -- the article's still at an early stage, so it's not yet clear from its content alone that Das is one of the approximately five most important computational RNA biochemists operating today. (Of course, everyone's got their own list.) I agree that it's difficult to approach living academics (who therefore have bodies of work that change over the lifetime of the article) from a properly encyclopedic viewpoint. I think a useful comparison is Daniel Herschlag, who's been working for a bit longer but has a pretty comparable set of top-profile publications (within his domain) and awards. His article's notability is not presently disputed, so that gives me something concrete to shoot for. Everyday847 (talk) 20:10, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A claim like "one of the five most important computational RNA biochemists operating today" would probably support notability, but demands verification from reliable, independent sources: one can't simply write about topics they think are important or deserve more attention. See Wikipedia:Notability (academics) for ways to credibly indicate notability. And regarding Herschlag's article, while I'm not familiar enough with leading RNA biochemists to assess notability, it's probably better to use guidelines and policies as a reference over the presence or state of any existing articles: there are millions of Wikipedia articles, of various quality, and each one needs to stand on its own: see Other stuff exists. Other relevant policies and guidelines are WP:BLP and WP:SECONDARY (avoid over-reliance on sources by the subject). Cheers, --Animalparty! (talk) 21:14, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Of course -- I didn't mean to imply otherwise, merely to reassure you about where I anticipate this article going -- I'm hardly going to make a claim like that in bare words, but I think the sum of the evidence I'll be able to cite will meaningfully support that position. I agree that guidelines are important; I meant more to provide a concrete point of reference. Of course, that article may be an equally flawed in its satisfaction of any particular guideline.
