Question for you[edit]

Why do you revert my edit on Cadbury chocolate? What was wrong with? Freddo is more known/popular than creme egg. --DangerousJXD (talk) 02:36, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

DM, Roses and Creme Egg are their highest selling products worldwide. Freddo is one of their best sellers in Australia, but not globally. Tom (talk) 05:06, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Understood. Just in case you did not know, when someone asks you a question (for example) on your talk page, you should leave a talkback thing on thier talk page. Just saying cause I had to remember your user name to check if you replied. --DangerousJXD (talk) 10:17, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

KFC[edit]

There are still KFC/A&W and KFC/Long John Silver's combos even though Yum! doesn't own those brands anymore. I live less than 15 miles from a KFC/Long John Silver's. If you can find a source corroborating that they still exist, please do. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 23:11, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

I'd rather avoid saying this until me know what Yum! intend to do with these AW/LJS co located restaurants. Are they planning to divest them? We need some sources. Farrtj (talk) 06:46, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
I've found nothing saying that they plan to get rid of them. I still feel they should be mentioned since they do exist. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 03:10, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
If all dual restaurant sales go through the same tills, how do the companies split profit sharing? Until we have more information on how that aspect of operations works, I think the addition could be more confusing than it is helpful.Farrtj (talk) 06:17, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Regardless of what happens at the next FAC, good work! [1][2] « Ryūkotsusei » 22:53, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Your contributed article, KFC Original Recipe[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, KFC Original Recipe. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – KFC. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at KFC – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. I, JethroBT drop me a line 20:19, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

KFC Original Recipe[edit]

Hi Farrtj. It seems like this article largely duplicates information already found at KFC and represents a content fork. I was going to delete it, but it made more sense to create a redirect for now, but were you planning on expanding the content in some way? If so, does it necessarily require its own article? I, JethroBT drop me a line 20:24, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

I am the main contributor to the KFC page, and I was intending to reduce the content on that page to make it less unweildly. I was also planning to expand the KFC Original Recipe page. If the Coca-Cola formula has its own page then I think KFC Original Recipe certainly qualifies for notability. Farrtj (talk) 20:27, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
Got it. I'll revert my changes. Sorry about the intrusion. I, JethroBT drop me a line 20:29, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
Don't worry, no hard feelings! Farrtj (talk) 20:30, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of KFC in South Africa[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on KFC in South Africa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". G S Palmer (talk) 16:38, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Alfred Dunhill[edit]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Alfred Dunhill you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. Time2wait.svg This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of TonyTheTiger -- TonyTheTiger (talk) 08:21, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Chris Morris[edit]

Chris Morris wasn't born in Bristol and there's no reference for it - because it isn't true. Your unexplained reverts (of referenced information) are not in the spirit of Wiki and are helping spread false information. Perhaps you could provide a legit reference for the supposed Bristol birth place.

Your GA nomination of Alfred Dunhill[edit]

The article Alfred Dunhill you nominated as a good article has passed Symbol support vote.svg; see Talk:Alfred Dunhill for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Reckitts[edit]

Thank you for your additions.

However I'm concerned, and fairly certain that the link to the book http://karabi.ir/greencontent/uploads/2014/04/THE-EMERGENCE-OF-MODERN-MARKETING.pdf is in violation of copyright

The title is still in print and in copyright eg http://www.amazon.com/Emergence-Modern-Marketing-R-A-Church/dp/071465390X

Much as I would like to leave the url link in - I must remove it. We would need specific written information stating that this book was available freely to be able to link it.Prof.Haddock (talk) 21:24, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

BLP categories[edit]

Per WP:BLPCAT, please do not add religious categories to articles on people unless doing so complies with the guideline: "Categories regarding religious beliefs or sexual orientation should not be used unless the subject has publicly self-identified with the belief or orientation in question, and the subject's beliefs or sexual orientation are relevant to their public life or notability, according to reliable published sources." KFC[edit]

Thank you again for all of your hard work on the KFC article, as I know that you have made many edits to help the content meet the good article criteria on Wikipedia. I think that it fully deserves the good article status, as the content is currently written very well, contains accurate and verifiable information, is broad in coverage with a neutral point of view, and is illustrated with appropriate images.

Incidentally, I am sure that you are aware of the current British television series The Billion Dollar Chicken Shop, but for anybody who is reading this User talk page who is not aware of it, and who might perhaps be interested in the general topic of KFC, the three-part BBC television series goes behind the scenes of KFC. It is currently available for a limited time to UK users on BBC iPlayer. Regards, Kind Tennis Fan (talk) 19:43, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Kind Tennis Fan, Saw the first episode. The Mail on Sunday TV critic wrote this Sunday that the Wikipedia page on KFC was a "zillion times" more interesting that the TV programme! I have had a horrible process trying to get the article as well as History of KFC to FA status, and have no desire to put myself through that again. Tom (talk) 20:11, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

TWL HighBeam check-in[edit]

Hello Wikipedia Library Users,

You are receiving this message because the Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to HighBeam. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

  • Make sure that you can still log in to your HighBeam account; if you are having trouble feel free to contact me for more information. When your access expires you can reapply at WP:HighBeam.
  • Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed. For more information about citing this source, see Wikipedia:HighBeam/Citations
  • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.

Thank you. Sent by MediaWiki message delivery (talk) at 16:46, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Barnardcastleschool.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Barnardcastleschool.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:23, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
