[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Stockholm International Fairs a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 15:14, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unfortunately Wesley Wolf is wrong. While the username on its own would have been enough for your block, your contributions also were unduly promotional and would have been grounds for a block even if your username had been OK. You will need to address that. Huon (talk) 08:17, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm sorry if I'm doing this all wrong, but I do not understand why the information was considered to commercial. Maybe some words, but couldn't I just have recieved a warning? I've looked around Wikipedia att similar venues and I don't see the difference between the information I entered compared with the information about The O2 Arena for example. What do I do know? The information on Wiki is wrong, there is no such thing as Stockholm Internatinal Fairs, and I would at least like to change that.

  • You have not been blocked based on the content you wrote in an article. You have been blocked because your user name (Stockholmsmassan) is the same as an organisation (Stockholmsmässan), which is not allowed. The fact that we also know that you are connected to the organisation, means you would not be allowed to edit the article directly, per conflict of interest. So any edits you would like to be seen made, would need to be requested at Talk:Stockholm International Fairs - where an editor will review your request and act upon it accordingly.
