Uploading duplicate images

[edit]

Hi there. Please be aware that there is no reason to upload a duplicate image that is already present on Wikipedia or on the Wikimedia Commons. These images can be used in multiple articles without the need to upload multiple copies of them. Uploading copies leads to problems when you tag them with license tags that imply that you created them, rather than giving correct attribution to the original uploader. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Nick—Contact/Contribs 00:23, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]
Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them.) WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which has a button "Cite" click on it
  2. Then click on "Automatic" or "Manual"
  3. For Manual: Choose the most appropriate template and fill in the details, then click "Insert"
  4. For Automatic: Paste the URL or PMID/PMC and click "Generate" and if the article is available on PubMed Central, Citoid will populate a citation which can be inserted by clicking "Insert"

We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:40, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Original research at Ocean Grove

[edit]

Your recent edits to the article for Ocean Grove, New Jersey have been reverted. Using what appears to be self-published original research ("David H. Fox, private research (2021) that refutes the 31 July 1869 date.") to remove sourced content violates Wikipedia policy on use of original research and may well violate policy on conflict of interest if my guess is correct that the user name Fox11354 matches the author of this private research. Please restrict yourself to reliable and verifiable sources, as required by Wikipedia policy. Alansohn (talk) 18:07, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have been previously warned about inserting your own self-published content and original research into the Ocean Grove, New Jersey article. Please understand that only reliable, secondary sources may be used on Wikipedia. See our "Reliable sources" policy for what constitutes "reliable, secondary sources". If you persist in violating our policy, you will be blocked from editing this article. —  JGHowes  talk 18:18, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
