Hello Garden, just wondering what the rationale was for removing the speedy notice on this article. No claims or sources supporting significance have been provided, and I could not find any Google hits. JNW (talk) 16:02, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for your input at my successful Rfa. I'm already thinking about working on my content creation. Hopefully in a few months, I'll have passed the point where you would've !voted Support. If you have any more suggestions on how I can improve myself as an editor, I'd be happy to hear them. Happy editing!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 21:05, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

List of osteopathic colleges

Your edits to the section regarding ‘List of osteopathic colleges’ in Canada, do not reflect the legal status in Canada. From its origins in the United States, osteopathy in North America has always been comprehensive health care inclusive of medicine, surgery, and osteopathic manipulative treatment, not just manual therapy. The majority of legitimate and licensed osteopathic practitioners in Canada practice comprehensive osteopathy inclusive of manual therapy. The terms osteopath and osteopathic physician are synonymous, just as the terms osteopathy and osteopathic medicine are. In 1995, the American Osteopathic Association, decided to modernize its terminology. Prior to 1995 AOA accredited osteopathic graduates were awarded a ‘Doctor of Osteopathy’ degree. Since 1995, they have been conferred the ‘Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine’ degree. Thus we have graduates with the same education and same scope of practice with degrees in osteopathy or osteopathic medicine. This does not mean that the AOA has turned over its titles to non-physician practitioners. Most of the osteopathic physicians practicing in Canada have a degree in ‘Osteopathy’. It is unreasonable and provides Wikipedia and the public with misinformation to promote non-registered osteopaths in Canada, especially when this group of practitioners does not come close to meeting any national or international standard for osteopathic licensure. By promoting institutions that are not recognized or accredited by the proper government regulatory authorities, you are providing Wikipedia and the public with misinformation. It is very unlikely that any of the graduates of any Canadian osteopathic college that you are promoting could get a license to practice osteopathy anywhere, let alone in Canada. Please do not keep changing my corrections to the section on ‘List of osteopathic colleges’. Clearly you are reflecting a bias and not the proper legal regulatory status in Canada. Please don’t keep deleting the important additions to this section which are required to keep Wikipedia users properly informed.Osteocorrect (talk) 18:15, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

RE: List of osteopathic colleges

Please raise this point on the talkpage of the article in question. Apologies for any misunderstanding, but please gain a consensus before adding that type of information. Sincerely, Garden. 18:23, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Please also note that I know absolutely nothing about Canada, its respective osteopathic colleges, or even osteopathy in gerenal, and would prefer not to be labelled biased in this respect. Garden. 18:28, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Then why are you editing a section of Wikipedia that you no nothing about? There need not be a consensus in this matter. It is a clear and simple fact that there are no government recognized or accredited colleges of osteopathy in Canada. The Canadian College of Osteopathy provides a diploma that is recognized no where in the world for licensure that I am aware of; certainly not in Canada. RfA thanks

THOBarnstar.png The RfA Barnstar
Fox, I would like to thank you for your participation in my recent Request for Adminship, which passed with 112 supports, 4 opposes and 5 neutrals. A special mention goes out to Stwalkerster and Pedro for nominating me, thanks a lot for having trust in me! In response to the neutrals, I will try to double check articles that have been tagged for speedy deletion before I CSD them and will start off slowly with the drama boards of ANI and AN to ensure that I get used to them. In response to the oppose !votes on my RfA, I will check that any images I use meet the non-free content criteria and will attempt to handle any disputes or queries as well as I can. If you need my help at all, feel free to simply ask at my talk page and I'll see if I can help. Once again, thank you for your participation, and have a great day! :) The Helpful One 22:09, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
