I see you love cleaning up the ISSNs on the CheckWiki page. If you really want some misery, errr, fun, This is the listing from the latest dump. Bgwhite (talk) 05:57, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

I just like to test my regular expression. Thank you for the listing, but it was all done by User:Yobot. --GünniX (talk) 18:35, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Sorry for spoiling the fun. I did not know. -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:57, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
You don't need to say sorry. I think it should be done by your bot. --GünniX (talk) 21:36, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

Related to this, can you add {{reflist}} instead of <references />? The template allows additional features. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 22:16, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

I don't like to waste time withe useless discussions. Why has someone implemented the new tag <references responsive />? Why is AWB not able to recognize that new tag? Why was the bot account locked, who fixed that issue before? Why is the number of open Wikipedia:WikiProject Check Wikipedia errors growing every day? --GünniX (talk) 04:57, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

WPCleaner[edit]

What version of WPCleaner are you using? For me, WPCleaner doesn't fix all the issues and it only fixes specific ones and I don't understand how are you able to fix all the issues on WP:CHECKWIKI that I can't with this tool? Pkbwcgs (talk) 20:27, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

I think I can understand. WPCleaner warns the problem and then I fix manually on the little editor in the system and then I double check the 'automatic comment' box. Is that how you are doing it as well? Pkbwcgs (talk) 21:19, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
I bet you enjoy this task! I find it quite fun to help Wikipedia by fixing double brackets in articles to ensure readability! Thank you for your contributions! Pkbwcgs (talk) 21:34, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
You are right. I use WPCleaner mainly to locate the errors, then I fix them manually and check my changes with WPCleaner. WP:CHECKWIKI shows only one error per error ID, but WPCleaner shows all errors. I enjoy doing this task. For me it is more fun doing some good work than looking some stupid comedy on TV. --GünniX (talk) 07:48, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
WPCleaner is very useful for this task! It also help many readers across the world who don't know Wikipedia formatting and they will think something is wrong if a link doesn't look right. I enjoy this task. At least, it helps Wikipedia rather than performing useless edits like I used to. Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:12, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
I am helping you fix some of these problems and I am doing the high priority tasks like fixing templates without correct end, square brackets without correct end and many other issues. Pkbwcgs (talk) 10:10, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Also, I am not sure how to fix reference duplication manually. Can you please help me out. Pkbwcgs (talk) 10:11, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
It is good that you participate in that task :-)
For reference duplications refer to WP:REF#Repeated citations. WPCleaner helps you to find the duplications. But it is much faster to use AutoWikiBrowser, which does it automatically (for registered users). In my opinion, a bot should do that task automatically (like it was done some months ago).
Warning: Be aware of the include tags, if they are used on a page! --GünniX (talk) 10:34, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
I do have AWB rights but AWB doesn't always fix the problem. Pkbwcgs (talk) 10:42, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Indeed, I have seen that a few times, too. If you have the time to fix it manually, you have even the chance to use better ref names than "ReferenceA", "ReferenceB", ... --GünniX (talk) 10:57, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
WPCleaner is also very slow at checking spelling and typography errors. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:00, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

WPCleaner 2.0[edit]

Hello GünniX.

I would like to inform you that a new version of WPCleaner is available replacing the old version (v1.43) dating back to almost a year. Unfortunately, going from version 1.43 to 2.0 automatically isn't possible and will require a new installation. It's necessary to install version 2.0 to take advantage of updates and bug fixes. Version 1.43 will have to be uninstalled manually, as there are no more updates for it.

Installation tutorial under Windows 10

The installation procedure is described at Wikipedia:WPCleaner/Installation.

Note: for usage in Bot mode, I strongly advise to check the modifications to be sure that the tasks run correctly

--NicoV (Talk on frwiki) 08:34, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi GünniX, do you have any problem with installing the new version? --NicoV (Talk on frwiki) 13:22, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi NicoV, no, I had no problem at all. I'm running the new WPCleaner 2.0 on Windows 10 and on Linux Mint. I haven't uninstalled the old version. I just created a new subdirectory and changed the link on my desktop. Thank you for asking. --GünniX (talk) 18:04, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi NicoV, just realised that I used an old link on my desktop. Now I really changed to 2.0, even when starting with the desktop link! --GünniX (talk) 18:25, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

Closing line-break markup[edit]

Hi, a small curious oddity of Wiki-markup. You removed a tag that in fact closed a break (from your edit comment, you appear to have misidentified it as an actual break...). The situation is that the Wiki editor makes caption and other parameter text purple. If breaks are used in an image caption, the editor wrongly makes all subsequent text purple ... unless the break is formally closed, something not usually necessary. Hence, the caption text needs to go txt txt txt<br>txt txt txt</br> (if you view this as if editing it, you'll see the purple begin and end, perhaps, though the nowiki does it too). The
, in short, ain't a break and wasn't in error. Just letting you know so you don't need to do it again! All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:20, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

Whoops ...[edit]

I goofed, and reverted back to your fixed version. Sorry! Ravensfire (talk) 21:08, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
