File permission problem with File:Whitegrannypanties.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Whitegrannypanties.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:28, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Templeton motleyscrew1977.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Templeton motleyscrew1977.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:35, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Rune Spaans, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.superrune.com/gallery/1995_wintergold.php.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

The article 2011 energy crisis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The POV and sourcing issues with this article are so severe that I doubt they can be fixed and the article salvaged.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. :)

What's up man? Why retiring?

You don't have to retire at 100%. I noticed that you edit and create lots of articles, so maybe you should just "calm down" a little bit, and only edit or create a page when you really feel like it or when it is necessary (when some information is wrong or so). :)

I can say that I found some obscure SFC games through your articles, which I really appreciate.

Keep up the good work and don't retire like that (I mean at 100%). Cheers. --Hydao (talk) 01:30, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

I've done Wikipedia for more than five years and I'm thinking about finding a new hobby. However, it has been interesting working with you, Hydao. GVnayR (talk) 02:49, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

You're always welcome to edit here and there if that's what you want! I wish you the best. Royalbroil 03:22, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
I hope you keep up the editing and creating of SFC games after I retire, Hydao. If I do ever return to Wikipedia to edit and create article, I would probably try to find information about SFC articles in an encyclopedia where most of the good games already have an article. GVnayR (talk) 03:25, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

More than five years, that is really something. Well, I don't know what more can I say (lol), it's your decision and it has to be respected.

You can have many hobbies at the same time, but yeah, take a break, I'm sure sooner or later you'll come back with some good stuff. As I said, you don't have to retire at 100%. --Hydao (talk) 03:46, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lode Runner Twin: Justy to Liberty no Daibouken requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copyright problem: Automated mining

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Automated mining, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to contain material copied from http://news.bric.com/articles/the-race-for-automated-mining.html, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Automated mining saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Copyright block

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Theleftorium (talk) 16:43, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

You were previously warned here and here, as well as a large amount of notices by CorenSearchBot. Theleftorium (talk) 16:45, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Is indefinite fair in this case? No blocks (except for one later labeled as a mistake in 2006) and editing a long time. Did you notice that most of the messages are for orphaned fair use images. I agree that GVnayR hasn't been an angel but indefinite seems quite strong. I know that GVnayR was about to retire soon but he was a veteran editor who has earned some respect. You've cited articles over 1 year ago! If the duration was determined by the clause "accounts used primarily for disruption may be blocked indefinitely without warning" then it is unfair to block since I saw lots of non-disruptive editing compared to the minimal amount of disruption. Royalbroil 03:34, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, indefinite is fair in this case. "An open-ended block may be appropriate to prevent further problems until the matter can be resolved by discussion." GVnayR has added tons of copyright problems to Wikipedia (not a minimal amount) – the latest was yesterday: Lode Runner Twin: Justy to Liberty no Daibouken. We do not want him to continue editing until he understands the problem. A contributor copyright investigation will soon be filed to deal with the problems. Theleftorium (talk) 10:29, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Oh, okay. I have looked over many of GVnayR's articles on NASCAR races (with the format year race name like 1985 Summer 500 from the past few days) and haven't found any copyright issues. Perhaps I wasn't looking hard enough. WP:PEACOCK issues - yes. Royalbroil 12:30, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

I've learned my lesson

GVnayR/Archive (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I fully admit to creating copyright violations in the past but I've learned my lesson now. There will be no more copyright violations from me. I intend to help the encyclopedia any way I can with video game articles and possibly articles about NASCAR races. GVnayR (talk) 18:46, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Based on the conversation below, I don't think you've learned your lesson. Not that you're necessarily being deceptive, but even if you're violating copyright unknowingly, that's a danger in itself. You have a number of editors working with you below, and if you can show an understanding of what you did that was a copyvio and why, I'd recommend requesting another unblock, but not until then. -- Atama 21:29, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Your contributions are being analysed at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/GVnayR. it may speed up that process, if you can list here any that you know are copyright violations.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I can admit to the following articles being copyright violations: Live Planning, Braingrey.Mind, Masayuki Kato, and Den'Z. GVnayR (talk) 02:31, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
3 sentence articles? That doesn't help much. You created hundreds of articles, and 4 tiny blips are all you can say? Blake (Talk·Edits) 03:02, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Don't take this the hard way but I've tried to word my articles so they didn't sound like copyright violations. I might have gotten lazy in my later articles and forgot to rephrase the sentences in my own words. In other words, it's hard for me to remember all of my copyright violations because I usually took the time to rephrase key sections into my own words. GVnayR (talk) 03:38, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Makes sense. Sorry for sounding like I am hounding you. Also sorry that I had to redirect all the Earthbound articles you made. But like I said long ago, they are not notable as they don't have reliable sources covering them. Blake (Talk·Edits) 03:45, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
No problem, Blake. GVnayR (talk) 03:57, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

None of the four articles you listed are copyright violations. An example of a copyvio created by you is Ultimate Fighter (game), which has been copied directly from http://www.mobygames.com/game/snes/ultimate-fighter without any attempt to reword the text. I'm not really sure you understand what a copyright violation and/or plagiarism is... Have you read Wikipedia:Copyrights, Wikipedia:Plagiarism and Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright? Theleftorium (talk) 16:42, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

How about my article about Doomsday Warrior (video game)? I believe there is enough information copied from http://www.mobygames.com/game/snes/doomsday-warrior to make this proof that I've learned my lesson. GVnayR (talk) 03:18, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
And I found another one: World Masters Golf. There is stuff on that article that is amazing close to the material found on http://www.mobygames.com/game/snes/world-masters-golf. GVnayR (talk) 03:30, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, those are definitely problematic. But do you know how to properly rewrite text from sources? If not, have a look at the essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing and the article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches. Once you've done that, I'd be willing to unblock you to give you another chance. Thanks, Theleftorium (talk) 10:26, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I have read the essays and realized that close paraphrasing is bad, except if the source is being is public domain like the 1911 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. Original language should be used when using words from a website containing non-free copyrighted material like MobyGames. So if I summarize material from MobyGames (or any other copyrighted site) in the future, it will all be in my own words. GVnayR (talk) 13:54, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Good! I will unblock you know, but I'll keep a look at your contributions for a while so that you don't make the same mistake again. If you ever wonder anything, feel free to ask at my talk page. And if you would help out with either rewriting or deleting the copyvios you have added, that'd be really appreciated. Thanks, Theleftorium (talk) 18:26, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
