Hello, I've been trying to sort through some of the requests here but it's difficult because of the way it's laid out. Would it be possible to make it so this page is laid out similar to this and this? Please reply on my talk page or reply here and leave a talkback template on my talk page.--Anarchyte 02:45, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Mega Man 5

The article Mega Man 5 you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Mega Man 5 for things which need to be addressed. AdrianGamer (talk) 11:25, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Draft:Pokemon Mega Evolution

Hello GamerPro64. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Draft:Pokemon Mega Evolution, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: speedy criteria not applicable, due to the lack of an AfC template and it's not in AfC either. Thank you. Armbrust The Homunculus 13:10, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

I've been getting mixed messages about this process. On one side I'm told this. But when I do take it to MfD, I get chastized for not putting it up for speedy deletion. Where do I even go to bring this tedious issue up? GamerPro64 14:22, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
I think WP:MFD is the right place if you want that page to be deleted. Armbrust The Homunculus 15:30, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
I mean where do I go to file a complaint by the fact that I'm usually in a catch 22 on this? If I nominate stuff like this for speedy deletion, it gets removed and am told to take it to MfD. If I do take it to MfD, I'm told I should've nominated it for Speedy Deletion. I'm tired of these mixed messages. GamerPro64 16:07, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Stale non-AfC drafts seem to be a bit of an odd topic to deal with, because almost nobody comments on them at MfD. A few months ago I tried to create a WP:DRAFTPROD system that would deal with them but it faced strong opposition. By current consensus all stale drafts that aren't AfC tagged have to go through MfD. Where have you been hearing that they should be speedied? Bosstopher (talk) 10:47, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

User page

  • Want the redlink back? — Chris Woodrich (talk) 02:20, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
    • As much as I would like to become "The Red User" again, I think I'm good with it being a redirect to my talk page. I might want to run for admin again and the lack of a user page might be brought up again. Besides, as long as no one tells me to change my signature we might all get along. GamerPro64 02:28, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
      • That's one way of looking at it. Sigh. I do hate the number of prejudices people have on this site. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 02:39, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
        • Eh. We'll see what happens with the next RfA, which looks to be happening pretty soon. GamerPro64 02:51, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey Crisco. Do you know how to withdraw an RfA? GamerPro64 00:55, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

RfA nomination

  • I sued for peace on the RFA page(s) in the aftermath of a failed rfa I filed for a friend a few months back. One of the terms under the peace agreed to is that I remain off the RFA page(s); however, I wanted to let you know that you still have my Strong Support. Good luck! TomStar81 (Talk) 04:36, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
  • @Winner 42: I just realized doing another RfA was a mistake. I would like it withdrawn. GamerPro64 00:47, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
    • I'm hesitate because you never know, it might pull around. I stand by my nomination, of course withdrawing is entirely your decision and I'll accept whatever you choose. Winner 42 Talk to me! 01:01, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
      • You honestly think this is going to turn around? GamerPro64 02:10, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
        • Probably not, sorry, but stranger things have happened (I expected Rich Farmbrough's RfA to snow fail, not go to crat chat). Feel free to withdraw if you would like to, I'm sorry that this RfA didn't go as planned. Winner 42 Talk to me! 02:33, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Crud. I need to pay more attention to RfA. I didn't suggest it last time because I didn't know if it would be considered canvassing, but it seems to be common enough that I'll ask this time: please ping me next time you're headed to RfA. -Thibbs (talk) 10:36, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the sentiment, Thibbs. But I don't think I'll ever become an admin here. Though I personally think you could pass it if you've ever up for it yourself. GamerPro64 14:30, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Arb report

Hi Gamer, I noticed you said on the NAN talk page you have been paying "hyper attention" to ArbCom this year, and also know you have no formal affiliation with the committee. Would you have any interest in joining a team of rotating writers for the Signpost's arbitration report? We have one writer already on board, and would like a team of at least three to help share the workload. If you would have any interest, do let me know. Go Phightins! 02:10, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

Must say, Phightins. I have always been interested in writing for the Signpost. And I do know how to do writing for the newsletters here, being one-third of the Video Game Newsletter. I am interested in helping with the work in any way for the reports. Can certainly do so after August 1st if that works. GamerPro64 02:22, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Awesome!!! That is great news, so great, I am going to ping Gamaliel as well. We will be in touch to coordinate the details shortly. Thanks! Go Phightins! 02:34, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello from the Signpost and welcome aboard. Would you consider writing about the Arbitration Enforcement case? The decision isn't due until August 9. Gamaliel (talk) 02:59, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Certainly. Looks to be interesting. GamerPro64 03:08, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Note to self: Workshop Proposed decision is still going on. No peace in the ArbCom case. GamerPro64 02:25, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Came here to leave a note that the case was still open, but I see you've already noticed that. I suspect they'll be done soon as most of the proposals already have 6-7 votes. Gamaliel (talk) 15:13, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

They just closed the case. Gamaliel (talk) 02:16, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up. I begin a draft. GamerPro64 02:34, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

You don't need to move anything. You can just link to the files as if they were local ([[File:Example.jpg]])... it makes Commons convenient. :)  · Salvidrim! ·  17:44, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Arb report

Hi, thanks for taking a swing at covering an admittedly complicated arbitration case. The first draft looks pretty good, but we do have a few concerns we'd like you to address before publication. Primarily, the text of the decision did not characterize GorillaWarfare's actions as wheel warring, which you did in the background section. Could you rework the background section to be as neutral as possible? I saw your note about copyediting in the newsroom; we'll look at that when the content is in place. Thanks again for your help, Go Phightins! 20:31, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

A Question

Do you want to continue as lead editor of the signpost's arbitration report or move to a backup? Because I did it this week, even though there were two lead editors for it, and I enjoyed it and would like to pick it up as my lead responsibility. Please ping me in response. Thanks Tortle (talk) 19:17, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

@Tortle: Yes I do want to continue to be a lead editor of the Arbitration report. Didn't think there would be need of it this week but your work shown so far proves me wrong. GamerPro64 20:00, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the prompt response, sounds good! Tortle (talk) 20:02, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Resurrecting an old project

Hey there! Long time no see. Let me get right down to business. If I remember correctly, one of your specialties is tidying up and nominating abandoned projects—Anachronox and Pilotwings spring to mind. Well, I'd like to propose one to you: Maniac Mansion. I worked on that article with MuZemike and GuyinBlack way back in the day... it's like four or five years (!) ago now. They kept working on it after I left, and it grew to an unbelievable size and depth. And it was impressive even before all that expansion. About three years ago, its one and only FAC failed because of prose concerns, and it's been collecting dust ever since. The article is 95% of the way to being perfect—it would be a real jewel in WPVG's crown if it finally got featured.

Tonight I got inspired to copyedit the behemoth. Did the lead and gameplay section, but there's quite a bit left. I'd love to do the rest. If I had a partner who was willing to double-check the references, do some trimming on the excess content and handle an FAC nomination, I'd keep going on the CE in a heartbeat. That's when you came to mind! Would you be interested in handling the nom and whatever little janitor work the article needs? I'm pretty sure it's in good shape aside from the prose, which I'm dealing with myself, but it's been a long time since the main contributors shelved it. Some of the links might need archiving, etc. The nomination is the biggest thing—with work and all, I'm definitely not up for the stress and time commitment that would require. Totally understand if you aren't, either. But I'd really love to see this article get its due, and you're the most qualified project-salvager I can ask. You interested? JimmyBlackwing (talk) 08:46, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Certainly. I've had Maniac Mansion in the back of my head for some time. I'll look through the article and do some fixing up there. GamerPro64 18:39, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Great to hear. I'll keep plugging away at the copyedit. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 19:06, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Looks like the article's going to need more janitor work than I feared. There are mangled ref templates and dead links galore, not to mention article text that's drifted from the sources over time. The copyedit is going well, but this thing will require a lot more work besides, unfortunately. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 22:00, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

You could ask for some assistance and make request on the WikiProject's talk page. Would be interesting to make this a full out project collaboration. That hasn't happened in years. GamerPro64 22:08, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
That's true, but I'm a bit nervous about work on the article getting derailed. I abandoned the previous push to bronze-star Maniac Mansion after a fourth editor, who was not the best writer, joined our collaboration and rewrote large portions of the article to be (if I'm honest) flat-out worse. He did some good work expanding it, but the article never had a prayer of satisfying 1a in that shape. Rather than fight over it and lose my hair, I just bailed. I'd rather not see something like that happen again. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 22:57, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
I getcha, Jimmy. I think we can make it work for its second go. GamerPro64 03:18, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
Prose-wise, the monster has very nearly been tamed. It's looking quite good for the most part: the content is strong. If we can get the technical side nailed down (and the writing spotchecked), we shouldn't have any trouble at FAC. Exciting stuff to finally see this project come together. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 09:26, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
Great. Also, I am about to get ready for college again. So once that's done with I can more available to help out with the page. GamerPro64 14:21, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
Sounds good. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:47, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
Copyedit complete, barring whatever minor tweaks might need to be made in the future. I cut probably 7,000-10,000 bytes from the article—truly unbelievable levels of cruft and bloat. What's left is very solid. Once you're back in the saddle, we should be able to fix up the rest in no time. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 23:40, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

So besides filling in some clips from conferences I think the article looks pretty well made. What do you think about putting it at FAC now? GamerPro64 00:17, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Oh, I missed this message until just now. I'd like to spotcheck the article first. A lot has changed since those references were first added. I'll work on that over the next few days, then you can feel free to nom. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 19:27, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Okay. I'm cool with that. GamerPro64 19:42, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Getting near the end of checking and fixing sources. The last big one I have to check is a GamesTM issue, which I've requested scans from at hahnchen's talk page. He said it's going to be two weeks before he can access the issue, though, so the nom is still a decent ways off. I don't think there's a huge rush, anyway. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 03:42, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Good luck with that. Surprised people still make magazines for gaming these days. GamerPro64 04:00, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Hahnchen got me the scans today. I'll finish up the source-checks and then let you know when it's set to nominate. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 18:34, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
Done. In the end, I wasn't able to double-check every single source, but I did a huge number of them. Any further errors will be tiny and easily fixable. Feel free to nominate the article at will. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 05:27, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
Started the FAC. Now for the waiting game. GamerPro64 15:13, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

I also have to thank you for putting the positives first. Most folks don't do that anymore, despite Dale Carnegie selling millions of his books. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 02:29, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
How may I attach a reference name when using the visual editor? I don't know how to do manual references, and I relied on either the automatic or the form-fill functions. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 02:36, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for telling me. I figured out how to call a reference without creating a new one. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 03:15, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Yes. I can play through it again to get a better understanding. I would like the plot section to be cleaned up (if not by me specificially), as it seems a little long. Cave Story has a similar choose-your-own plot, though that summary is somewhat concise. I would also like a reassessment of the article if we can add in pictures of combat and overworld, because it's been improve a little bit from C-class. I can't add in pictures because I'm a new user, so I'll focus on other things. What do you think the article needs? I think we can use more citations, a concise plot, a character list, and a soundtrack list (if length allows). --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 16:58, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Uploading Undertale images

I got two good pictures of Undertale. They're full screenshots, and I wouldn't want to place the burden of editing them on you, but I gave you more to work with instead of making something you couldn't use. I hope you understand. They're at http://imgur.com/a/uLDQW. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 02:46, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

I think it might be better to find a pre-existing image online. One that might be used on a website, like Mobygames or Gamasutra or something like that. I think that would be more sufficient. GamerPro64 02:49, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
For captions, I was thinking for the first one, "Undertale's visual style takes inspiration from Super NES role-playing games such as EarthBound. For the second, "The player battles Toriel, the first boss. Combat involves moving your heart to avoid attacks." BTW licensing from online sources are hellish. At least we know where mine came from. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 02:51, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
I've done my fair share of uploading images on here. Not as much as anyone else but I've done it well enough. They have either been taken from a website or, on one occasion, was given by the developers for free to use. Personally it might be better if there was a GIF to show the gameplay. But a screenshot can still work. GamerPro64 03:08, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
I could make you a .gif if I had some fair use footage. If I record it myself it might unusuable due to low quality. Are you okay to edit nd upload the screenshots I took? What guidelines should they meet? --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 03:26, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
You can start reading with this. I also suggest taking this up with the Video Game Project on this. Again, I rarely do image uploads. GamerPro64 03:30, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I know how to license it. I just can't physically do it for about three days when my autoconfirmation occurs. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 03:36, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
Then let's worry about it later. I also recommend using the first image with the Whimsun to show the combat system and sparing enemies. GamerPro64 03:39, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
I made a thread on the VGA discussion forum asking for opinions. The Whimsum screenshot shows the battle menu, though not the combat. It might be harder to explain visually than the Toriel fight. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 03:42, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Here are some sources that may or may not be in the article right now. I'm on a Wikibreak so I won't be able to put them to prose.

Good news from endosan

I managed to review a good article. You just added the tag for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Do you think I did a good enough job at reviewing it? I'm not experienced with some things like proper citation formatting and in-game citing. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 02:01, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

The citing look to be all right here. The sources are reliable. Did you check to see if all the sources backed up what was in the article? GamerPro64 02:04, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
All of the web links I checked out were accurate. If there's an issue, somebody can change it, though I don't think there are any issues major enough for a timely reassessment. --Kiyoshiendo (talk) 02:16, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Dyscourse

Hi GamerPro64,

Did you happen to get my ping at Talk:Dyscourse? --Soetermans. T / C 11:18, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Yes. I've been trying to figure out how to answer it. GamerPro64 14:31, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Re:Ron Gilbert interview

Really nice find. I'll have to go over that if I ever go back to the LucasArts adventure topic—big interviews like these are goldmines. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 22:15, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Arbitration Election Season

I completely forgot that this was a thing before writing for the Signpost. I expect interesting things to happen from this. GamerPro64 00:46, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello Gamer, I have been perhaps a bit over-WP:BOLD with my changes, can you please double-check the revised WP:Wikipedia_Signpost/2015-11-18/Arbitration_report? Thanks. Also, I am wondering if adding material is allowed; I would like to stick in a couple sentences pointing out the voter-guides which have been made available, and the candidate-question-pages, so that interested Signpost readers can click to get involved. p.s. Agree this is an interesting season.  :-)     75.108.94.227 (talk) 22:16, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Okay, done with my revisions. Please give them a once-over with a critical wiki-eye. p.s. I was sore tempted to add a final sentence, after the list of arbs not up for re-election this year... "May the 2016 arbitration committee members wear their official ArbCom bathrobes with honour." But I resisted doing so, in deference to the dignity of the publication.  :-)     75.108.94.227 (talk) 13:52, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Yeah I think you made the article more presentable than I would have. Thanks for the help. GamerPro64 15:37, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Well, you are certainly welcome; unfortunately I am new at this, so mostly I just wrote in my normal 'Mainspace Style' which is pretty bland, and heavy on the wiki-links. Presentable is not the same as readable/enjoyable, and you have a style that is terse and to the point, plus kinda fun to read. More important than presentable, in my book. Feel free to ping my usertalk if you have something you want to collaborate on, and I'll try to lend a hand again, and less of a heavy-handed one, as I get used to the way it works. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 22:24, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
