UMass Lowell / Big 8[edit]

Hey, I noticed that addition to the UMass Lowell page about the "big 8" student organizations. I'm only vaguely familiar with it and I think it's worth while but there's no context that explains why/if it's important. I'm sure it's changed since I graduated or I'd do it myself. Maybe just a quick line about what the big eight is and a rundown of what each group is - especially explaining the acronyms (like V-Pac?). -Midnightdreary 01:45, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

I like it much better now, great job. I added a little myself - check and make sure I didn't ruin anything! -Midnightdreary 13:54, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

EM field generator[edit]

In Miscellaneous technology in Stargate you claim that the EM field generator is Ancient tech, this is NEVER proven and add to the fact that McKay said it was only built 500 years ago and the Ancients left Pegasus 10000 years ago. Just because it was powered by a ZPM doesn't mean it was built by the Ancients so please don't remove it again. Vala M (talk) 16:43, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Ayer Mill.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ayer Mill.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images. For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lawrence, MA Seal.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lawrence, MA Seal.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:56, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Edit War[edit]

3RR warning[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Thank you. Third opinion on edit war[edit]

As requested, I have posted an opinion at Talk:Marty Meehan about the revert war that you have been involved with. Whether or not you are willing to accept my opinion, may I suggest that both of you take a deep breath and edit some different pages for a while? The issue over which you are fighting is so tiny in comparison to the energy you are both expending. Just so you know who has given this opinion: I'm a UK citizen who has never visited the US and has no connection with US politics. I've read the Meehan page but can't now remember which party he's from. Hopefully this makes me reasonably even-handed on this. You may or may not like my recommendation (to remove the few sentences on possible candidates for a future election) but I can promise you it comes from a neutral standpoint. Best wishes - Kim dent brown 11:36, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Automated reverting[edit]

Well, then try assuming a little more good faith, please. When there's an ongoing discussion on the talk page and in edit summaries, you're probably looking at a content dispute, not vandalism. -- Vary | Talk 20:23, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Politics/Government[edit]

Polls[edit]

Your edit giving Michigan to McCain was incorrect. Use polls from the entire month and find the average. Do not simply take the most recent poll which could be an outlier and use that to make judgments about who is leading in the state. (This is irrelevant now that a new April poll has Giuliani ahead, but I am just letting you know)

Barney Frank article[edit]

I was going to revert the latest assault on the Barney Frank article but I figured I'd see if our anon POV warrior was at all open to reason by writing him a more detailed explanation. Now he can see your reversion plus my explanation of it! Perhaps he'll start to get a clue... maybe it's not the case that everyone except him is out of step. As an aside, looking at Talk:Barney Frank, I get the impression that the article attracts far more than its share of anons who evince intense hostility toward the bio subject. I wonder if there's any other Representative who's such a target. JamesMLane t c 05:47, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Category changes[edit]

Please don't remove Category:Jewish politicians from other categories. The matter is still under consideration at WP:CFD. Your edits are inappropriate because the category is not inevitably going to be deleted, and so the category structure should be preserved. Those contributing to, or closing, the debate, should be allowed to see the whole picture of the category's use, not just the bit that you permit. In any case, if the discussion is closed as "delete", then your action is unnecessary. I am reverting your other changes. Regards, BencherliteTalk 10:04, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Gilchrist[edit]

Gilchrist1[edit]

Hi. Well, I don't know when he changed, but his website says he is now a Republitard. I think the biggest indicator he likely won't run is that he said he would run if McCain entered the race. McCain entered, but Jim hasn't said anything about running after McCain's entrance. Also, candidates are usually expected to be registered with the party they are running with. Tim Long 21:33, 8 July 2007 (UTC) Yes, but I would imagine Ron Paul changed his registration when he ran with the LP. Tim Long 21:56, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

"Since when does being part of one political party stop your from being a candidate for another and when did he switch over? Gang14 19:32, 8 July 2007 (UTC) - - :Not always for example Ron Paul has always been a Republican and he ran under the Libertarian Party. So truthfully party doesn't matter unless its the major two sadly. But I see your point since he hasnt been heard from since McCain jumped in.
