Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!--MOE.RON talk | done | doing 20:50, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Natbrooksm.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Natbrooksm.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:07, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Look at the current image. Compare it to the previous versions. The copyright tag is THERE. Gdread 21:56, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gdread, when uploading a picture, you have to include one of the options from the drop down menu for lisencing. In this case, since it is your own work, the picture should be denoted with {{PD-self}}, allowing it to be used here on Wikipedia (like I have done with Image:Kiddiepool.jpg on my user page.
Also, OrphanBot is an automated bot, meaning it does mindless tasks with no real person behind it 100% of the time. You can follow the link on their user page to the real person running the bot and leave a comment on their talk page about any problems you have with Orphanbot.
